Le terminal de messagerie comprend : un module de téléchargement en amont de pièce jointe de courrier électronique (112) destiné à télécharger une pièce jointe vers un serveur (120) ; un module d'ajout d'adresse de liaison (113) destiné à recevoir l'adresse de liaison générée par le serveur (120), ladite adresse indiquant l'emplacement de stockage de la pièce jointe dans le serveur (120), et à ajouter l'adresse de liaison dans le texte du courrier ; et un module d'envoi de courrier (115). L'invention permet à l'expéditeur d'envoyer le courrier mêmesi la taille de la pièce jointe dépasse les limites du serveur ou la capacité utilisable de la boîte aux lettres du destinataire. Après réception du courrier, le destinataire peut se connecter au serveur dans lequel est stockée la pièce jointe au moyen de l'adresse de liaison contenue dans le texte du courrier et télécharger la pièce jointe du serveur. La présente invention permet de résoudre le problème lié à l'impossibilité pour l'utilisateur d'envoyer une pièce jointe de grande taille.
