Abstract

 外部から入力されたデューティ比に基づいて生成されたPWM信号を、蛍光ランプ(25)を点灯駆動するPWM制御によるインバータ部(24)に出力するPWM信号発生部(22)を備えるバックライトランプ点灯制御装置であって、蛍光ランプ(25)を流れる電流を検出する管電流検出部(26)を備え、PWM信号発生部(22)は、液晶パネル(1)に表示される輝度が該液晶表示パネル(1)の全面において略均一となるように、管電流検出部(26)により検出された電流を外部から入力されたデューティ比に応じて変更し、変更した電流を利用して上記PWM信号を生成する。これにより、バックライト用のランプにおける高圧側の輝度と低圧側の輝度との差を小さくすることによって、表示画面全体で略均一な輝度の表示を得ることができるバックライトランプ点灯制御装置を提供する。
