Abstract

　運転者が操作するハンドルと電気的制御自在な副操舵角重畳機構により操向車輪を操舵する操舵機構を有し、ハンドル角に応じて目標副操舵角が設定され、目標副操舵角通りに副操舵角重畳機構の電動機を駆動制御する車両用操舵装置において、駆動制御の状態によらず、電動機２１２の回転を阻止する。電動機２１２の両端子間を短絡する短絡リレー１３を備え、故障検出手段１８により検出された故障の種類に応じて、短絡リレー駆動手段１４を介して、短絡リレー１３を、電動機２１２の両端子間を短絡するように動作させ、電動機２１２の回転を阻止する。また、車両用操舵装置への電源が遮断された場合に、短絡リレー１３は、電動機２１２の両端子間を短絡するように無電源で動作する。
