Abstract

 放電セルで選択的に書込み放電を発生させる書込み期間と放電セルで輝度重みに応じた回数の維持放電を発生させる維持期間とを有する複数のサブフィールドを配置して1フィールド期間を構成したパネルの駆動方法であって、輝度重みが単調増加するように配置した複数のサブフィールドからなるサブフィールド群を複数配置して1フィールド期間を構成し、サブフィールド群のそれぞれにおいて、先頭のサブフィールド以外のいずれかのサブフィールドで書込み放電を発生させる放電セルでは先頭のサブフィールドでも書込み放電を発生させることを特徴とする。
