Abstract

 本発明の一の態様に係る水素製造方法は、微生物を利用して有機物から水素を生成させる水素製造方法において、耐酸性を有する水素生成菌を包括固定化した担体を用い、該担体をpH4~6の環境下で前記有機物と接触反応させることによって水素を生成することを特徴とする。本発明の発明者は、水素生成菌を包括固定化することによって、水素生成菌の至摘pHが低い範囲に移行するという知見を得た。本発明はこのような知見に基づいて成されたものであり、水素生成菌を包括固定し、その担体を用いるようにしたので、pH4~6の低い範囲で水素生成菌が活性して水素が生成される。したがって、水素を消費する雑菌の影響が少なく、水素の収率を向上させることができる。
