Abstract

An infrared sensor (10) for detecting infrared rays radiated from a cooking container (P) is provided below a top plate (4), and infrared rays passed through an infrared ray entry region (4a) formed on the top plate (4) is guided to the infrared sensor (10) through a first light guide tube (42a). Also, a light emitting body (11) for emitting light toward the top plate (4) is provided below the top plate (4), and light emitted from the light emitting body (11) is guided toward the top plate (4) through a second light guide tube (42b). Further, the infrared ray entry region (4a) is placed at that portion of the top plate (4) which is on the inner side of an outer edge (6c) of a heating coil (6) and faces a portion different from the center (6a) of the heating coil (6). The light emitted from the light emitting body (11) and guided by the light guide tube (42b) is adapted to be issued at the radially outer side of the infrared ray entry region (4a), allowing the light to be visible from the outside.
