Abstract

有機EL素子は、一対の陰極及び陽極間に配置された発光層と、発光層及び陽極間に配置された正孔輸送層と、発光層及び陰極間に配置された電子輸送層と、を含む有機EL素子であって、発光層が、第1燐光材料と、第2燐光材料と、含窒素芳香族複素環を有するホスト材料とからなり、第2燐光材料の励起三重項準位は、第1燐光材料の励起三重項準位より高く、ホスト材料は、第1燐光材料、及び、第2燐光材料より、少なくとも0.5eV以上大きいイオン化ポテンシャルエネルギーを有する。
