Abstract

重合開始剤に由来する分解物の生成を抑制することができ、未反応単量体や分解物残渣のトナー粒子中への残留を抑制することができる重合トナーの製造方法を提供する。少なくとも重合性単量体と着色剤を含有する重合性単量体組成物を水系媒体中に分散させ、該水系媒体中で重合開始剤を用いて前記重合性単量体を重合して、トナー粒子を製造する重合トナーの製造方法であって、前記重合開始剤として、特定の構造を有し、且つ、水素結合解離エネルギーが特定の関係を満足する重合開始剤を用いることを特徴とする。
