Definitions

  • Non-reclosable container comprising a single portion of a drink concentrate
  • the present invention relates to a container, comprising a single portion of a liquid drink concentrate, to a method for the preparation of a ready to consume drink using the said container and to a kit, comprising such a container and a second container of water.
  • Liquid drink concentrates are popular products that are used to produce ready to consume drinks, such as lemonades and are in particular enjoyed by children. Such liquid drink concentrates are currently only available in relatively large volumes and packaged in reclosable bottles of e.g. 500-1000 ml. Such bottles should be refrigerated after the bottle has been opened, therewith taking space in the refrigerator. Because of relatively large volume of the liquid drink concentrate, the bottle is opened many times before it becomes empty. Each time of opening and closure involves the risk of microbial infection. As these liquid drink concentrates often contain a relatively high concentration of sugar, such concentrate forms a rich growing medium for microbes .
  • liquid drink concentrates have the additional problem in that such bottles are impractical to use a during journeys, daytrips, walking trips etc. In particular, it is impractical for families with small children to take such large bottles on a daytrip with the children.
