Abstract

 青色レーザー等の短波長の光によって高密度の光情報の記録・再生が可能な光学記録媒体を提供する。  基板と、前記基板上に設けられ、光が照射されることにより情報の記録又は再生が可能な記録層とを有し、該記録層が下記一般式[I]で表わされるシアニン色素を含有することを特徴とする光学記録媒体。 (一般式[I]中、 A1及びB1は各々独立に、置換基を有していてもよい芳香環を表わす。但し、A1及びB1のうち少なくとも一方の芳香環は、窒素原子を含む。 R1及びR2は各々独立に、置換基を表わす。R1及び/又はR2は他のカチオンと結合していてもよい。 X1、X2、X3及びX4は各々独立に、有機基を表わす。但し、X1とX2の組、及び/又は、X3とX4の組が、互いに結合して環構造を形成していてもよい。 Y1は、水素原子又は有機基を表わす。 Z-は、アニオンを表わす。)
