Abstract

　車両等の移動体の周囲の４方向、特に運転者が視認困難又は不可能な方向の像を撮像し、ユーザに対して見易く効果的に提示することが可能な撮像装置及び運転支援装置等を提供する。 　本願に係るカメラユニット１は、取付軸Ｇを中心として回転可能に取り付けられ車両外部の互いに異なる２方向の像を同時に撮像するＣＣＤ１２ｂと、当該取付軸をＧ中心にＣＣＤ１２ｂを例えば９０度回転させることにより当該ＣＣＤ１２ｂを第一の固定状態から第二の固定状態に遷移させる回転機構１１ａと、を備え、当該ＣＣＤ１２ｂが、第一の固定状態にあるとき、車両の進行方向とは直交する水平２方向の像が同時にＣＣＤ１２ｂにより撮像され、ＣＣＤ１２ｂが、第二の固定状態にあるとき、車両の垂直下方向の像と、車両の後退方向の像とが同時にＣＣＤ１２ｂにより撮像されるように構成した。
