Abstract
本発明は、立体画像情報を有する画像ファイルがステレオ画像非対応機器で加工編集処理されているか否かを容易に判定し得る画像ファイル処理装置を提供するために、同一被写体に対して所定の視差を有して得られる複数のモノキュラ画像を表わすステレオ画像データを生成するステレオ画像データ生成手段50bと、ステレオ画像データに関するメタデータを生成するメタデータ生成手段50aと、ステレオ画像データに基づいて表わされる画像の特徴を示す画像特徴情報を生成する画像特徴情報生成手段70と、ステレオ画像データ生成手段で生成されたステレオ画像データとメタデータ生成手段で生成されたメタデータとを合成して画像ファイルを生成する画像ファイル生成手段80cとを具備し、画像ファイル生成手段は画像特徴情報生成手段で生成された画像特徴情報をメタデータ生成手段で生成されたメタデータに付加する。
