Abstract

 ウォーム軸7aの先端部を支持する転がり軸受8aをガイドスリーブ20の内側に、ウォームホイール4に対し遠近動する方向の変位を可能に支持する。上記転がり軸受8aが上記ガイドスリーブ20の内側で、最も上記ウォームホイール4から遠ざかる方向に変位した状態で、上記両転がり軸受8a、8bの中心軸同士を、互いに一致させる。この構成により、部品点数を少なくしてコスト低減を図り易くすると共に、電動モータ5によりステアリングシャフトに補助力を付与すべく、ウォーム歯6aからウォームホイール4に回転力を伝達する際に、ウォーム軸7aの両端部を支持する1対の転がり軸受8a、8bの中心軸を一致させられる構造を実現することができる。
