技術分野
[0001] この発明は、ガラスセラミック組成物、ならびに、これを焼成してなるガラスセラミック 焼結体、およびこれを焼成してなるガラスセラミック層を備える積層セラミック電子部 品に関するもので、特に、ガラスセラミック焼結体の Q値の向上を図るための改良に 関するものである。
背景技術
[0002] この発明にとって興味あるガラスセラミック組成物として、特開平 5— 217426号公 報(特許文献 1)に記載されたものがある。特許文献 1では、主成分としての(Ca, Sr) (Zr, Ti) 0 -MnO- SiO系セラミックに、 Li O— RO— B O— SiO系ガラス(Rは

、 Ba、 Caおよび Srの少なくとも 1種)を添加した、非還元性誘電体ガラスセラミック組 成物が開示されている。
[0003] このガラスセラミック組成物によれば、 1000°C以下の温度で焼成することができ、こ のような焼成の結果、比誘電率が高ぐ誘電率の温度特性が安定であり、 Q値が高い 、ガラスセラミック焼結体が得られるとしている。したがって、特許文献 1記載のガラス セラミック組成物を用いれば、たとえば金、銀または銅といった高い導電率を有する 金属を、内部に形成する導体パターンにおいて用いることが可能となり、高周波域に おいて導体の抵抗による損失が小さいので、たとえば共振器、フィルタまたはコンデ ンサ等を構成する積層セラミック電子部品に用いた場合、優れた高周波特性を実現 すること力 Sでさる。
[0004] しかしながら、特許文献 1に記載のガラスセラミック組成物は、上記のような優れた 特性を有するものの、さらに改善されるべき余地がある。特に、 Q値について言えば、 Qf= 5000GHz程度が限界である。

発明の開示 発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0005] そこで、この発明の目的は、特許文献 1に記載されたガラスセラミック組成物の特性
、特に Q値をより改善し得る、ガラスセラミック組成物を提供しょうとすることである。
[0006] この発明の他の目的は、上述のガラスセラミック組成物を焼成してなるガラスセラミツ ク焼結体、およびガラスセラミック組成物を焼成してなるガラスセラミック層を備える積 層セラミック電子部品を提供しょうとすることである。
課題を解決するための手段
[0007] 上述した技術的課題を解決するため、この発明に係るガラスセラミック組成物は、 C aZrO系セラミックと Li O— MgO— ZnO— B O—SiO系ガラスとを含んで構成さ

[0009] この発明に係るガラスセラミック組成物は、さらに、 BaZrO系セラミックを 1〜84重

量%含み、かつ SrTiOを 0〜6重量%含むことが好ましい。上述の BaZrO系セラミ
3 3 ックの含有量は、 1〜30重量%とされることがより好ましい。
[0010] また、この発明に係るガラスセラミック組成物は、さらに、 Mg SiOを 40重量%以下

含むことが好ましい。
[0011] この発明は、また、上述のガラスセラミック組成物を焼成してなる、ガラスセラミック焼 結体にも向けられる。
[0012] この発明は、さらに、上述したガラスセラミック組成物を焼成してなる第 1のガラスセ ラミック層を備える、積層セラミック電子部品にも向けられる。
[0013] この発明に係る積層セラミック電子部品力 上記第 1のガラスセラミック層とともに積 層される第 2のガラスセラミック層をさらに備える場合、第 2のガラスセラミック層は、次 のような組成の第 2のガラスセラミック組成物を焼成して得られたものであることが好ま しい。
[0014] すなわち、第 2のガラスセラミック組成物は、(1)フォルステライトを主成分とする第 1 のセラミック粉末と、(2)チタン酸カルシウムを主成分とするセラミック粉末、チタン酸 ストロンチウムを主成分とするセラミック粉末および酸化チタンを主成分とするセラミツ ク粉末からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも 1種からなる第 2のセラミック粉末と、(3)リチ ゥムを Li O換算で 3〜15重量%、マグネシウムを MgO換算で 20〜50重量%、ホウ 素を B O換算で 15〜30重量%、ケィ素を SiO 換算で 10〜45重量%、亜鉛を Zn O換算で 6〜20重量%、および、アルミニウムを Al O 換算で 0〜; 15重量%含む、ホ ゥケィ酸ガラス粉末とを含む。
[0015] 上記第 2のガラスセラミック組成物において、ホウケィ酸ガラス粉末は、この第 2のガ ラスセラミック組成物のうちの 3重量%以上を占めている。
[0016] また、ホウケィ酸ガラス粉末には、酸化カルシウム、酸化バリウムおよび酸化ストロン チウムからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも 1種の添加成分が添加されている。
[0017] 上記添加成分の含有率をホウケィ酸ガラス粉末に占める割合で表したとき、添加成 分の含有率の下限は、酸化カルシウム、酸化バリウムおよび酸化ストロンチウムを、そ れぞれ、 CaO、 BaOおよび SrOに換算して、合計で 2重量%であり、かつ、添加成分 の含有率の上限は、酸化カルシウムの場合には CaO換算で 15重量%であり、酸化 ノ リウムの場合には BaO換算で 25重量%であり、酸化ストロンチウムの場合には Sr O換算で 25重量%である。
[0018] この発明に係る積層セラミック電子部品において、表面および/または内部に、ガ ラスセラミック組成物と同時焼成された金、銀または銅を主成分とする導体パターンを さらに備えることが好ましい。
発明の効果
[0019] この発明に係るガラスセラミック組成物によれば、特定の組成比を持つ Li O-Mg
2
O-ZnO-B〇 - SiO系ガラスが CaZr〇系セラミックに対して極めて良好な濡れ

性を示すので、特許文献 1に記載の Li O-RO-B O - SiO系ガラスに比べて、

たとえ少量の添加でも、 CaZrO系セラミックの特性を維持しつつ、その低温焼結化

を十分に達成することができる。したがって、このガラスセラミック組成物を焼成して得 られたガラスセラミック焼結体によれば、 CaZrO系セラミックが有する高い比誘電率

を維持すること力 sできる。
[0020] また、この発明に係るガラスセラミック組成物は、 Mg B Oや Li MgSi O等の結
3 2 6 2 2 8 晶相を析出する。これらの結晶相は高い Q値を示すものであるので、この発明に係る ガラスセラミック焼結体によれば、高!/、(^直を得ること力 Sできる。
[0021] したがって、この発明に係るガラスセラミック組成物を焼成してなるガラスセラミック 層を備える積層セラミック電子部品によれば、優れた高周波特性を実現することがで きる。
[0022] この発明に係るガラスセラミック組成物は 1000°C以下の低温で焼結させることがで きるので、このガラスセラミック組成物と同時焼成された金、銀または銅を主成分とす る導体パターンを、積層セラミック電子部品の表面および/または内部に設けること ができる。そして、金、銀または銅を主成分とするものから導体パターンを構成するこ とにより、導体パターンの抵抗による損失を低減することができる。
[0023] この発明に係るガラスセラミック組成物力 さらに、 BaZrO系セラミックを 1〜84重

量%含み、かつ SrTi〇を 0〜6重量%含んでいると、このガラスセラミック組成物を焼

成して得られたガラスセラミック焼結体についての負荷試験前後での容量変化率を 低くすること力 sでさる。
[0024] また、 BaZrO系セラミックには、誘電率温度係数を正側に大きくする作用を有し、

他方、 SrTiOには、誘電率温度係数を負側に大きくする作用を有している。したが

つて、 BaZrO系セラミックは、 SrTiOと共存させることにより、誘電率温度係数の調

[0025] 上述の BaZrO系セラミックについて、その含有量が 1〜30重量%の範囲に限定さ

れると、上記容量変化率をより低くすることができる。

ぐ第 1のガラスセラミック層との相性が良い。したがって、信頼性の高い積層セラミツ ク電子部品を得ることができる。
[0028] なお、第 2のガラスセラミック層となる第 2のガラスセラミック組成物において、第 1の セラミック粉末は 55重量%以上、第 2のセラミック粉末は 6〜30重量0 /0、ホウケィ酸ガ ラス粉末は 3〜20重量%含有されることが好まし!/、。この第 2のガラスセラミック組成 物において、ホウケィ酸ガラス粉末の含有量は、たとえば 20重量%以下と少なくても 、上記のように優れた特性が得られる。したがって、第 2のガラスセラミック組成物によ れば、コスト的に有利であり、また、第 2のセラミック粉末とガラスとの反応の制御を行 ないやすぐ添加物による共振周波数の温度係数( τ )が制御しやすぐまた、めっき

耐性に優れた積層セラミック電子部品を得ることができる。

発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0031] 図 1ないし図 3は、この発明に係るガラスセラミック組成物を用いて構成される積層 セラミック電子部品の一例としての LCフィルタを説明するためのものである。ここで、 図 1は、 LCフィルタ 1の外観を示す斜視図であり、図 2は、 LCフィルタ 1が与える等価 回路図であり、図 3は、 LCフィルタ 1を製造するにあたって焼成工程に付される中間 製品としての生の積層構造物 8を分解して示す斜視図である。
[0032] LCフィルタ 1は、図 1に示すように、複数の積層されたガラスセラミック層をもって構 成される積層構造物としての部品本体 3を備え、この部品本体 3の外表面上であって 、各端部には、端子電極 4および 5が設けられ、各側面の中間部には、端子電極 6お よび 7が設けられている。

[0095] また、絶縁信頼性の評価にあたっては、各試料に係るガラスセラミック組成物に、バ インダおよび有機溶剤を加えて、スラリーを作製し、このスラリーをドクターブレード法 によってシート状に成形し、このシートに対して、内部電極形成のための導電性ぺー ストの印刷、積層、圧着および焼成の各工程を実施して、試料となる積層コンデンサ を作製した。そして、各試料に係る積層コンデンサに対して、温度 85°C、相対湿度 8 5%、および 10Vの DC電圧印加の条件を付与する加速試験を実施した。この加速 試験を 100時間実施した後に、絶縁抵抗値を測定し、それが 10ΐα Ω以上であった場 合に絶縁信頼性が良好であるとして「〇」で表し、著しい絶縁劣化があった場合には 、絶縁信頼性が良好でな!、として「 X」で表した。

ればわかるように、 SrTiOの含有により、 Qfを大きく低下させることなく比誘電率 ε を向上させることができ、 TCCを負側に変化させることができる。なお、試料 134のよ うに、 SrTiO含有量が 6重量%を超えると、 TCCが負側に大きくなりすぎるため、好

ましくない。 [0147] 表 4に示した試料 138〜; 144は、 Mg SiOを含有させ、かつその含有量を変化さ

せたものである。試料 138〜; 144によれば、 Mg SiOを含有しているので、 Qfを一

層向上させることができた。し力もながら、 40重量%を超えて Mg SiOを含有する試

料 140および 143では、比誘電率 ε が低くなつた。したがって、 Mg SiOは、 40重

[0149] (実験例 4)
実験例 4では、実験例 3で得た第 1のガラスセラミック組成物から得られる比較的高 誘電率の第 1のガラスセラミック層と、以下のようにして作製した第 2のガラスセラミック 組成物から得られる比較的低誘電率の第 2のガラスセラミック層とをともに積層しかつ 焼成して、比誘電率の互いに異なる第 1および第 2のガラスセラミック層を備える積層 セラミック電子部品を作製した。
[0150] まず、第 2のガラスセラミック組成物に含まれるホウケィ酸ガラス粉末として、表 5に 示すような組成のガラス G3、 G5、 G10、 G12、 G31、 G32および G18を用意し、平 均粒径 1〜2 mになるまで粉砕した。なお、表 5に示したガラス G3、 G5、 G10、 Gl 2および G18は、それぞれ、前掲の表 1に示したガラス G3、 G5、 G10、 G12および G 18と同じである。

[0163] 次に、表 7の「第 1のガラスセラミック組成物の表 3, 4中の試料番号」の欄に示すよう に、前掲の表 3また (ま表 4ίこ示した試料 102、 104、 106、 112、 116、 119、 120、 1 27、 138および 141の各々に係る第 1のガラスセラミック組成物に、バインダおよび有 機溶剤を加えて、スラリーを作製し、このスラリーに対してドクターブレード法を適用す ることによって、第 1のガラスセラミックグリーンシートを作製した。
[0164] 他方、表 7の「第 2のガラスセラミック組成物の表 6中の試料番号」の欄に示すように 、表 6に示した試料 20;!〜 208の各々に係る第 2のガラスセラミック組成物に、バイン ダおよび有機溶剤を加えて、スラリーを作製し、このスラリーに対してドクターブレード 法を適用することによって、第 2のガラスセラミックグリーンシートを作製した。
[0165] 次に、内部電極形成のための導電性ペーストの印刷をそれぞれ終えた、上記第 1 のガラスセラミックグリーンシートと第 2のガラスセラミックグリーンシートとを所定の順 序で積層しかつ圧着し、次いで、焼成することによって、第 1のガラスセラミック組成物 と第 2のガラスセラミック組成物とを共焼結させる、各工程を経て、第 1のガラスセラミツ ク層と第 2のガラスセラミック層との共焼結体を備える、試料となる積層コンデンサを得 た。なお、この試料となる積層コンデンサは、第 1のセラミック層側と第 2のセラミック層 側との各々について、別々に電気的特性を測定できるように測定用端子(外部電極) が設けられた構造のものとした。

次に、表 7に示すように、各試料について、共焼結体の断面を観察し、断面での欠 陥(ポア)の有無を評価するとともに、第 1のガラスセラミック層側と第 2のガラスセラミツ ク層側との各々について、実験例 1の場合と同様の方法により、絶縁信頼性を評価し 、また、実験例 3の場合と同様の方法により、容量変化率を評価した。なお、容量変 化率は、共焼結体の断面での欠陥がな力、つた試料につ!/、てのみ評価した。
[0168] 表 7に示した各試料のうち、試料 301、 304および 308〜310においては、断面欠 陥、絶縁信頼性および容量変化率のすべてについて、優れた結果が得られた。これ ら試料 301、 304および 308〜310においては、そこで用いられた「第 1のガラスセラ ミック糸且成物」である試料 102、 112、 127、 138および 141カこの発明の範囲内に り、力、つ、「第 2のガラスセラミック組成物」である試料 201、 203、 206、 207および 20 8が請求項 7に記載の範囲内にある。
[0169] 他方、試料 302および 307では、そこで用いられた「第 1のガラスセラミック組成物」 である試料 104および 120がこの発明の範囲外であるため、また、試料 303、 305お よび 306では、そこで用いられた「第 2のガラスセラミック組成物」である試料 202、 20 4および 205が請求項 7に記載の範囲外であるため、いずれも、断面欠陥が発生し、 また絶縁信頼性が劣って!/ヽた。
[0170] なお、「第 1のガラスセラミック組成物」としての試料 120は、表 3に示すように、単体 では、絶縁信頼性が良好であるが、これを「第 2のガラスセラミック組成物」と複合した 試料 307では、上述したように、絶縁信頼性が劣っていた。また、「第 2のガラスセラミ ック組成物」としての試料 202は、表 6に示すように、単体では、絶縁信頼性が良好で ある力 S、これを「第 1のガラスセラミック組成物」と複合した試料 303では、上述したよう に、絶縁信頼性が劣っていた。これは、「第 1のガラスセラミック組成物」および「第 2の ガラスセラミック組成物」の一方または両方につ!/、て、含有される Li成分や B成分が 多かったり、 A1を含んでいたりする場合、焼結時に両材料間で相互拡散が起こりや すくなり、両材料側で反応が起こり、ポアが発生し、その結果、両材料側で絶縁性が 低下するためであると考えられる。

前記第 2のガラスセラミック層は、
フォルステライトを主成分とする第 1のセラミック粉末と、
チタン酸カルシウムを主成分とするセラミック粉末、チタン酸ストロンチウムを主成 分とするセラミック粉末および酸化チタンを主成分とするセラミック粉末からなる群より 選ばれる少なくとも 1種からなる第 2のセラミック粉末と、
リチウムを Li O換算で 3〜15重量%、マグネシウムを MgO換算で 20〜50重量 %、ホウ素を B O換算で 15〜30重量%、ケィ素を SiO換算で 10〜45重量%、亜 鉛を ZnO換算で 6〜20重量%、および、アルミニウムを Al O換算で 0〜; 15重量% 含む、ホウケィ酸ガラス粉末と を含む、第 2のガラスセラミック組成物を焼成してなるものであり、
前記ホウケィ酸ガラス粉末は、前記第 2のガラスセラミック組成物のうちの 3重量% 以上を占めており、
前記ホウケィ酸ガラス粉末には、酸化カルシウム、酸化バリウムおよび酸化ストロン チウムからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも 1種の添加成分が添加されていて、
前記添加成分の含有率を当該ホウケィ酸ガラス粉末に占める割合で表したとき、前 記添加成分の含有率の下限は、酸化カルシウム、酸化バリウムおよび酸化ストロンチ ゥムを、それぞれ、 CaO、 BaOおよび SrOに換算して、合計で 2重量%であり、かつ、 前記添加成分の含有率の上限は、酸化カルシウムの場合には CaO換算で 15重量 %であり、酸化バリウムの場合には BaO換算で 25重量%であり、酸化ストロンチウム の場合には SrO換算で 25重量%である、
請求項 6に記載の積層セラミック電子部品。
表面および/または内部に、前記ガラスセラミック組成物と同時焼成された金、銀ま たは銅を主成分とする導体パターンをさらに備える、請求項 6または 7に記載の積層 セラミック電子部品。
