Abstract

 感光材料(12)に対するレーザ光のビーム軌跡情報に従い、感光材料(12)の各領域での露光点数を同一とし、あるいは、各領域間での露光点数の差を小さくするためのマスクデータがマスクデータ作成部(82)において作成される。画像データ記憶部(76)から読み出されたラスタ画像データは、ミラーデータ作成部(78)においてミラーデータに変換され、次いで、このミラーデータがフレームデータ作成部(80)においてフレームデータに変換される。そして、マスクデータ作成部(82)で作成されたマスクデータによってフレームデータに対するマスキング処理が施され、露光ヘッド(30)を駆動して感光材料(12)に画像が露光記録される。

描画装置及び描画方法
技術分野
[0001] 本発明は、複数の描画素子を有する描画ヘッドを描画面の走査方向に相対移動さ せ、前記描画素子を描画データに従って制御することで描画を行う描画装置及び描 画方法に関する。
背景技術
[0002] 従来から、描画装置の一例として、デジタル.マイクロミラー.デバイス(DMD)等の 空間光変調素子を利用し、画像データに応じて変調された光ビームで画像露光を行 う露光装置が種々提案されている。 DMDは、制御信号に応じて反射面の角度を変 化させる多数のマイクロミラーをシリコン等の半導体基板上に二次元状に配列したミ ラーデバイスであり、この DMDを備えた露光ヘッドを露光面に沿った走査方向に相 対移動させることで、画像を露光面に迅速に記録することができる。
[0003] し力しながら、単一の露光ヘッドを用いて十分な大きさの露光面積をカバーすること は困難である。
[0004] そこで、複数の露光ヘッドを走査方向と直交する方向に配列して構成した露光装 置が提案されている(特開 2004— 9595号公報参照)。そして、この露光装置では、 走査方向と直交する方向に対する解像度を向上させるため、マイクロミラーが格子状 に配列された各 DMDを走査方向に対して傾斜させて配置している。この際、 DMD の繋ぎ部分が互いに補完し合うよう、隣接する DMDによる露光範囲が重畳するよう に設定している。

[0007] 本発明の目的は、描画ヘッドの設定状態、描画面に対する走査状態等に起因す る描画むらの発生を極めて容易に回避できるとともに、画像を高精度に描画すること のできる描画装置及び描画方法を提供することにある。
[0008] 本発明の描画装置及び描画方法によれば、描画面を複数の領域に分割し、各領 域に描画される描画点の数の領域間での差、あるいは、各領域に付与される描画工 ネルギの領域間での差力 S小さくなるように、描画素子を選択的に非描画状態とするマ スクデータを設定することにより、描画ヘッドの傾斜角度、複数の描画ヘッド間の相対 位置等の設定状態、光学系の各種収差、個々の描画素子の位置ずれ、走査状態の 変動等に起因する描画むらの発生を極めて容易に回避し、所望の画像を高精度に 描画することができる。

発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0011] 本実施形態に係る露光装置 10は、図 1に示すように、シート状の感光材料 12が貼 着された基板を表面に吸着して保持する平板状の移動ステージ 14を備えて ヽる。 4 本の脚部 16に支持された厚い板状の設置台 18の上面には、ステージ移動方向に 沿って延びた 2本のガイド 20が設置されている。移動ステージ 14は、その長手方向 力 Sステージ移動方向を向くように配置されるとともに、ガイド 20によって往復移動可能 に支持されている。なお、この露光装置 10には、移動ステージ 14をガイド 20に沿つ て駆動するステージ駆動装置(図示せず)が設けられて 、る。
[0012] 設置台 18の中央部には、移動ステージ 14の移動経路を跨ぐように、門形状のゲー ト 22が設けられている。ゲート 22の端部の各々は、設置台 18の両側面に固定されて いる。このゲート 22を挟んで一方の側にはスキャナ 24が設けられ、他方の側には設 置台 18に対する感光材料 12の位置を検出する複数 (例えば、 2個)の CCDカメラ 26 が設けられて 、る。スキャナ 24及び CCDカメラ 26はゲート 22に各々取り付けられて 、移動ステージ 14の移動経路の上方に固定配置されている。なお、スキャナ 24及び CCDカメラ 26は、後述する制御回路に接続されている。ここで、説明のため、移動ス テージ 14の表面と平行な平面内に、図 1に示すように、互いに直交する X方向及び Y方向を規定する。

請求の範囲
[1] 複数の描画素子(58)を有する描画ヘッド(36)を描画面(12)の走査方向に相対 移動させ、前記描画素子(58)を描画データに従って制御することで描画を行う描画 装置(10)において、
前記描画面(12)に対する前記描画素子 (58)による描画点の位置を算出する描 画点位置算出部 (84)と、
前記描画面(12)を複数の領域に分割し、算出された前記描画点の位置に基づき 、前記各領域に含まれる前記描画点の描画点数を算出する描画点数算出部 (82)と 前記各領域間での前記描画点数の差を所定以下にすべぐ非描画状態とする前 記描画素子を設定するマスクデータを作成するマスクデータ作成部(82)と、 を備え、前記マスクデータにより非描画状態に設定された前記描画素子(58)を除 く描画素子を描画データに従って制御することで描画を行うことを特徴とする描画装 置。
[2] 請求項 1記載の装置において、
前記マスクデータ作成部(82)は、前記描画面(12)を前記走査方向及び前記走査 方向と直交する方向に分割した前記各領域に対して前記マスクデータを作成するこ とを特徴とする描画装置。
[3] 請求項 2記載の装置において、
前記走査方向に分割した前記各領域の前記マスクデータを記憶するマスクデータ 記憶部(96)と、
前記描画素子(58)の前記走査方向に対する走査位置の情報を取得する走査位 置情報取得部 (94)と、
取得した前記走査位置の情報に応じた前記マスクデータを前記マスクデータ記憶 部(96)より選択するマスクデータ選択部(98)と、
を備え、選択した前記マスクデータにより前記描画素子(58)の一部を非描画状態 に設定することを特徴とする描画装置。
[4] 請求項 1記載の装置において、 前記走査方向と直交する方向に配列され、描画範囲が相互に重畳して設定される 複数の前記描画ヘッド (36)を備え、
前記マスクデータ作成部(82)は、前記描画面を前記走査方向と直交する方向に 分割した前記各領域に対して前記マスクデータを作成することを特徴とする描画装 置。
[5] 複数の描画素子(58)を有する描画ヘッド(36)を描画面(12)の走査方向に相対 移動させ、前記描画素子(58)を描画データに従って制御することで描画を行う描画 装置(10)において、
前記各描画素子(58)によって前記描画面(12)に付与される描画エネルギを取得 する描画エネルギ取得部(95)と、
前記描画面(12)に対する前記描画素子 (58)による描画点の位置を算出する描 画点位置算出部 (84)と、
前記描画面(12)を複数の領域に分割し、算出された前記描画点の位置と、取得し た前記描画点の前記描画エネルギとに基づき、前記各領域に含まれる前記描画点 により付与される前記描画エネルギの総和を前記各領域毎に算出する描画エネルギ 算出部 (82)と、
前記各領域間での前記描画エネルギの総和の差を小さくすべぐ非描画状態とす る前記描画素子(58)を設定するマスクデータを作成するマスクデータ作成部(82)と を備え、前記マスクデータにより非描画状態に設定された前記描画素子(58)を除 く描画素子(58)を描画データに従って制御することで描画を行うことを特徴とする描 画装置。
[6] 請求項 5記載の装置において、
前記マスクデータ作成部(82)は、前記描画面(12)を前記走査方向及び前記走査 方向と直交する方向に分割した前記各領域に対して前記マスクデータを作成するこ とを特徴とする描画装置。
[7] 請求項 6記載の装置において、
前記走査方向に分割した前記各領域の前記マスクデータを記憶するマスクデータ 記憶部(96)と、
前記描画素子(58)の前記走査方向に対する走査位置の情報を取得する走査位 置情報取得部 (94)と、
取得した前記走査位置の情報に応じた前記マスクデータを前記マスクデータ記憶 部(96)より選択するマスクデータ選択部(98)と、
を備え、選択した前記マスクデータにより前記描画素子(58)の一部を非描画状態 に設定することを特徴とする描画装置。
[8] 請求項 5記載の装置において、
前記走査方向と直交する方向に配列され、描画範囲が相互に重畳して設定される 複数の前記描画ヘッド (36)を備え、
前記マスクデータ作成部(82)は、前記描画面を前記走査方向と直交する方向に 分割した前記各領域に対して前記マスクデータを作成することを特徴とする描画装 置。
[9] 複数の描画素子(58)を有する描画ヘッド(36)を描画面(12)の走査方向に相対 移動させ、前記描画素子(58)を描画データに従って制御することで描画を行う描画 方法において、
前記描画面(12)に対する前記描画素子(58)による描画点の位置を算出するステ ップと、
前記描画面(12)を複数の領域に分割し、算出された前記描画点の位置に基づき 、前記各領域に含まれる前記描画点の描画点数を算出するステップと、
前記各領域間での前記描画点数の差を所定以下にすべぐ非描画状態とする前 記描画素子(58)を設定するマスクデータを作成するステップと、
前記マスクデータにより非描画状態に設定された前記描画素子 (58)を除く描画素 子を描画データに従って制御するステップと、
を有することを特徴とする描画方法。
[10] 請求項 9記載の方法において、
前記描画点の位置は、前記描画ヘッド(36)を前記走査方向に相対移動させた際 に得られる前記各領域における位置として算出することを特徴とする描画方法。
[11] 請求項 9記載の方法において、
前記描画面( 12)を前記走査方向及び前記走査方向と直交する方向に分割した前 記各領域に対する前記マスクデータを作成するステップと、
前記描画素子(58)の前記走査方向に対する走査位置の情報を取得するステップ と、
取得した前記走査位置の情報に応じた前記マスクデータを選択するステップと、 選択した前記マスクデータにより前記描画素子(58)の一部を非描画状態に設定し
、描画処理を行うステップと、
を有することを特徴とする描画方法。
[12] 複数の描画素子(58)を有する描画ヘッド(36)を描画面の走査方向に相対移動さ せ、前記描画素子(58)を描画データに従って制御することで描画を行う描画方法に おいて、
前記各描画素子(58)によって前記描画面(12)に付与される描画エネルギを取得 するステップと、
前記描画面(12)に対する前記描画素子(58)による描画点の位置を算出するステ ップと、
前記描画面(12)を複数の領域に分割し、算出された前記描画点の位置と、取得し た前記描画点の前記描画エネルギとに基づき、前記各領域に含まれる前記描画点 により付与される前記描画エネルギの総和を前記各領域毎に算出するステップと、 前記各領域間での前記描画エネルギの総和の差を所定以下にすべぐ非描画状 態とする前記描画素子(58)を設定するマスクデータを作成するステップと、
前記マスクデータにより非描画状態に設定された前記描画素子 (58)を除く描画素 子(58)を描画データに従って制御するステップと、
を有することを特徴とする描画方法。
[13] 請求項 12記載の方法において、
前記描画点の位置は、前記描画ヘッド(36)を前記走査方向に相対移動させた際 に得られる前記各領域における位置として算出することを特徴とする描画方法。
[14] 請求項 12記載の方法において、 前記描画面( 12)を前記走査方向及び前記走査方向と直交する方向に分割した前 記各領域に対する前記マスクデータを作成するステップと、
前記描画素子(58)の前記走査方向に対する走査位置の情報を取得するステップ と、
取得した前記走査位置の情報に応じた前記マスクデータを選択するステップと、 選択した前記マスクデータにより前記描画素子(58)の一部を非描画状態に設定し 、描画処理を行うステップと、
を有することを特徴とする描画方法。
