Abstract

La présente invention concerne une carte de mémoire de stockage de masse qui ajoute une fonctionnalité à des dispositifs hôte avec lesquels elle est utilisée. En plus de la capacité à stocker de grandes quantités de fichiers utilisateur et de les protéger d'une duplication non autorisée, le dispositif de stockage de masse de la présente invention permet des communications avec les champs proches avec un dispositif électronique portable qui n'aurait pas autrement cette fonctionnalité. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, le dispositif de stockage de masse possède une configuration mère/fille; la carte fille est une carte micro-SD totalement fonctionnelle pouvant être utilisée indépendamment. La carte mère peut être acceptée dans une fente de carte SD et communiquer avec le protocole SD. Que la carte fille soit présente ou non dans la carte mère, un hôte contenant le dispositif de stockage de masse pourra réaliser une communication avec les champs proches. Ces communications peuvent être faites sans serveur ou être utilisées pour acheter des biens ou des services, sous forme de porte-monnaie électronique. Un contrôleur du dispositif peut aussi fonctionner pour coordonner, contrôler et sauvegarder les transactions financières effectuées lorsque l'on utilise le dispositif et l'hôte sous forme de porte-monnaie électronique.
