Description
"ELECTRONIC CONTROLLER FOR IRRIGATING VEGETATIVE BENCH
AND THE LIKE"
The present Specification refers to the presentation of a practical and innovating programmable controller belonging to the electronic field, and more precisely used for irrigating vegetative benches used for decoration purposes, or as division of internal and external environments, and which received an original constructive arrangement in order to make more practical the routine of watering vegetables planted in the framed benches themselves.
This is an automated device, which performs the pre-programmed irrigation of the vegetable benches both with regard to frequency, time and amount of water, and also seeking to complement a landscaping solution to vertical arrangements used as if it were a bench, but instead of the thematic screen, a supporting basis is provided for rooting and nutrition of the plants, which can be of varied species and types.
Therefore, the present patent application provides an electronic utensil specially designed and developed to achieve a huge practicality, and which provides big advantages in respect of both its use and manufacture, as a sophisticated knowledge is not required to enable the controller to be programmed and used.
It is a further objective of the present application to provide a timer-controlled controller for the irrigation of a decorative bench at low costs for its industrial feasibility, but meeting the requirements of strength, safety and utility practicality, thus providing the consumer with an additional choice in the market, which differently from the usual irrigating means provides countless possibilities and benefits to its users, thus becoming a highly accepted device in the market.
Most of the homes, offices and business facilities are currently decorated with some type of natural foliage or plant, in order to convey the sense of calmness and nature either to indoor or outdoor environments.
As it is particularly known to landscapers or decorators, the preferred and most used model in order to arrange the plants in these environments is the overhead support, particularly because it keeps the floor area free for traffic.
Ornamental plants are put in vases made of bracken or argyle containing soil, being later packed in supports usually formed by a plastic basis of the type "plate with rims", from which lateral chains go out and join a link, which in its turn fits a hang- shaped end rod.
One of the great drawbacks of such models resides primarily in the fact that most of the vases and accessories occupies inconveniently useful spaces in the alleys, rooms, among other cases, many times having size restrictions.
In addition, most of the devices require water reservoirs, which pose a public health problem because they turn into breeding places for the larva of dengue mosquitoes, and provide easy access and a suitable environment to the reproduction of dipteral flies.
Notwithstanding, it is consensual that the use of ornamental plants, and their aesthetically favorable feeling to decorative trends cannot be suppressed.
From the foregoing findings the inventor has designed the vegetative bench, whose new constructive shape comprises a vertical structure fixed to the site by means of a screwed support located in the perimeter and transversally and either provided with rims or not, being frontally rectangular, circular or other geometrically regular or irregular shape more suitable to the space where it is to be introduced, being a planar, vertical structure made preferably of plastics or fiber glass containing an iron, aluminum, brass, or wood frame, or any other material over the rim perimeter.
Such arrangement has been designed by incorporating an irrigating system by means of a discharge pump set up inside a frame in order to enable the water to drain throughout the fiber bench containing planted vegetables. Such arrangement has eliminated the need of spraying water manually, however, according to what has been recently found out the users still have difficulty to keep a routine for periodically driving the device because of they lack the habit to do so.
From the foregoing findings, and in applying the experience achieved after countless researches and studies, the inventor, who is a person dedicated to the field, has created and designed the object of the present patent by idealizing an electronic irrigation controller applied to the side of a vegetative bench formed by a framed or frontally decorated rectangular structure, which is provided in the posterior perimeter portion of a recess.
Said recess holds in its lower portion a water reservoir inside which the end of a duct is immersed, said duct end is interconnected to a small programmable controller-driven discharge pump, whose outlet remains connected to a pipe arranged in the upper, internal edge of the structure provided with holes in order to enable the water to drain.
The water reservoir has a conductometer cell interconnected to an irrigation electronic controller whose function is to light on the low water level indicating led, and not to allow the pump to work with no water.
Over the front plan of the rectangular structure a number of coconut fiber plates are adhered and supported, which support in their turn either throughout its whole extension or not, plants which can be of varied species and type, which are manually implanted, one by one.
Just below the fiber plates a collection gutter is arranged, which captures the water coming from the irrigation, and returns it to the water reservoir.
The programmable controller has a number of functions, among them the following: timer, language and watering programming according to the year season, watering frequency, amount of water and time for starting the watering procedure.
This way, the present constructive arrangement shows that not only the mechanic and functional qualities have been taken into consideration by the manufacturing design of the invention, but also the shape, arrangement and location of its parts and components, which when correctly positioned bring up an increase in the efficiency, thus providing more comfort and tranquility to the user, who will only have to be concerned with keeping the level of water in the reservoir.
Therefore, the present patent has been designed in order to achieve an accessory with a number of parts as small as possible conveniently configured and arranged in order to allow the "live" landscaping bench to be satisfactorily kept and with no big interventions, and perform its functions with insurmountable effectiveness and versatility without the foregoing drawbacks.
The present patent application provides a practical and innovating irrigation controller with all the aesthetic and functional qualities, designed and developed according to the most modern techniques, thus enabling it to have the most varied possibilities of use, including the use as an irrigation controller for an ornamental bench, as proposed, up to its use in irrigating vases and/or dividing panel of environments for the most varied applications in places like restaurants, bar, party salons, event organization, supermarket, among many others.
Its innovating shape allows to achieve an outstanding level of functionality providing a timer-controlled controller for watering the vegetative bench, which has great durability and versatility, as it has been created particularly to provide tranquility and comfort to the user according to the growth and type of vegetable planted.
It is to be understood thus that the aforementioned utensil has an extremely simple construction, therefore it is easily executable, while very good practical and functional results are achieved.
Idealized with an innovating design it results in a harmonic set of a very peculiar and above all characteristic aspect, and besides the constructive aspect, the accessory stands out because of its use versatility and comfort.
