発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0012] 本発明の対象となるセルロース系高分子を含む被処理物とは、選別除去の対象と
して、少なくともセルロース系高分子を含む被処理物一般を意味する。このような被 処理物としては、セルロース系高分子を含む非加工品や加工品が包含される。
[0013] 非力卩ェ品としては、セルロース系高分子を含む植物などが例示される。加工品とし ては、セルロース系高分子を含む繊維製品や紙製品が考えられるが、これらに限定 されるものではなくセルロース系高分子を含むカ卩ェ品であればょ 、。本発明で好まし く用いられる加工品は、セルロース系高分子とポリエステルの混紡繊維、及び Z又は 混紡繊維製品である。
[0014] セルロース系高分子としては、綿、麻、パルプ等のセルロースからなる高分子、ァセ チルイ匕セルロース等の化学的に修飾されたセルロース力 なる高分子、キチンやキト サン等のセルロースの一部の水酸基が他の官能基に置換された高分子、セルロース の一部の構造が置換された高分子等が含まれる。
[0015] 本発明に係るセルロース系高分子の第 1の選別除去方法は、セルロース系高分子 を含む被処理物を、酸触媒の存在下、溶媒中で加熱するものであり、第 2の方法は、 セルロース系高分子を含む被処理物を酸触媒の存在下、エステル化剤と加熱反応さ
·¾:るものである。
前者の方法によれば、溶媒と被処理物中のセルロース系高分子の反応やセルロー ス系高分子の切断等により、セルロース系高分子は選択的に分解し微粉化される。 また後者の方法によれば、エステル化剤及び Z又は溶媒と被処理物中のセルロース 系高分子の反応等により、セル口ース系高分子は選択的にエステル化剤や用 、た溶 媒中に実質的に溶解 ·分散される。
この場合、何れの方法においても、セルロース系高分子以外の他の被処理物の形 態は変化せず固体のままであるから、両者は篩いや固液分離等の手段により簡単に 選另 IJすることができる。
[0016] 以下、本発明の第 1のセルロース系高分子の選別除去方法である、セルロース系 高分子を含む被処理物を、酸触媒の存在下、溶媒中で加熱することによりセルロー ス系高分子を分解除去する方法について説明する。
[0017] 溶媒としては、非プロトン性溶媒とプロトン性溶媒のいずれも用いることができ、これ らの非プロトン性溶媒やプロトン性溶媒は単独で用いても良いが二種類以上の、非
プロトン性溶媒同士の混合溶媒、プロトン性溶媒同士の混合溶媒、非プロトン性溶媒 とプロトン性溶媒の混合溶媒としてもよい。また、二種類以上の混合溶媒を用いた場 合には必ずしも均一になる必要はなぐ溶媒同士が分離した状態でも良い。
[0018] 非プロトン性溶媒としては、従来公知の非プロトン性溶媒の中で反応を阻害しない もの全てが使用できる。このような非プロトン性溶媒としては、ァセトニトリル、ジメチル スルホキシド、ジメチルホルムアミドなどの極性溶媒の他に、デカン、ドデカン、テトラ デカン等の脂肪族炭化水素や、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素 (分子内に 脂肪族基を有する芳香族炭化水素も含む)等の無極性溶媒も用いることができるが、 これらに限定されるものではなく非プロトン性溶媒で有ればいずれのものであっても よい。
[0019] また、プロトン性溶媒としては従来公知のプロトン性溶媒の中で反応を阻害しないも の全てが使用できる。このようなプロトン性溶媒としては、水、エタノール、 n—プロパノ ール、イソプロパノール、 n—ブタノール、 sec—ブタノール、 tert—ブタノール、ェチ レングリコール、エチレングリコーノレモノァノレキノレエ一テル、エチレングリコーノレモノァ リーノレエーテノレ、ジエチレングリコーノレ、ジエチレングリコーノレモノァノレキノレエーテノレ 、ジエチレングリコーノレモノァリーノレエーテル、プロピレングリコール、プロピレングリコ ールモノアルキルエーテル、プロピレングリコールモノアリールエーテル、各種ジォー ル類、各種ジオール類のモノアルキルエーテル、各種ジオール類のモノァリールェ 一テル、グリセリン、グリセリン誘導体、ポリオール、プロピルァミン、エチレンジァミン、 各種カルボン酸、各種ポリカルボン酸、などを挙げることができる力 水やカルボン酸 が好ましぐ特に水と酢酸が好ましいが、これらに限定されるものではなくプロトン性溶 媒で有れば!/、ずれのものであってもよ!/、。
[0020] 酸触媒としては、プロトン酸、ブレンステッド酸、及びルイス酸の ヽずれも使用できる 。これらの酸触媒は単独でも用いてもよいが、複数組み合わせた混合触媒として使 用してちょい。
[0021] プロトン酸ゃブレンステッド酸としては、塩酸、硫酸、リン酸、ギ酸、酢酸、炭酸など 力 ルイス酸としては、三フッ化ホウ素、塩化亜鉛、四フッ化ホウ素亜鉛などが例示さ れるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
また、これらの酸触媒は溶媒に溶解もしくは分散させ、水溶液または非水溶液の形 態で用いることもできる。
[0022] 溶媒としては、水、アルコール類、鎖状または環状の炭化水素類、エーテル類等の 単独溶媒あるいはこれらの混合溶媒が挙げられる。酸触媒の含有量は溶媒に対する 酸触媒の飽和濃度以下であれば特に制限はないが、好ましくは溶媒に対して、 0. 0 1重量%〜飽和溶液、より好ましくは 0. 1〜飽和溶液とするのが適当である。
[0023] 界面活性剤としては、セルロース系高分子の分解を著しく阻害するものでなければ 従来公知の界面活性剤が全て使用できる。
[0024] このような界面活性剤としては、たとえば、高級脂肪酸アルカリ塩、アルキル硫酸塩 、アルキルスルホン酸塩、アルキルァリールスルホン酸塩、スルホコハク酸エステル塩 などの陰イオン界面活性剤、高級アミンハロゲン酸塩、ハロゲンィ匕アルキルピリジ-ゥ ム、第四アンモ-ゥム塩などの陽イオン界面活性剤、ポリエチレングリコールアルキル エーテル、ポリエチレングリコール脂肪酸エステル、ソルビタン脂肪酸エステル、脂肪 酸モノグリセリドなどの非イオン界面活性剤、アミノ酸などの両性表面活性剤などが例 示される。
[0025] また、これらの界面活性剤のいずれかを単独で用いても良いが、複数の界面活性 剤からなる混合物を用いることもできる。また、それらの界面活性剤の溶液を用いるこ ともできるが、このような溶媒としては、水、アルコール類、鎖状または環状の炭化水 素類、エーテル類等の単独溶媒あるいはこれらの混合溶媒が挙げられる。界面活性 剤の含有量は溶媒に対する界面活性剤の飽和濃度以下であれば特に制限はない 力 好ましくは溶媒に対して、 0. 0001〜50重量0 /0、より好ましくは 0. 01〜10重量 %とするのが適当である。
[0026] 本発明における加熱温度としては特別な制約はなぐ用いる溶媒の沸点以下、 つ凝固点以上の温度であればよいが、プロトン性溶媒の含有量が 10%以下の場合 にはプロトン性溶媒の沸点を超えた温度を用いることができる。本発明において好ま しく使用される温度は 0°C以上、 200°C以下である。本発明で特に好ましく用いられ る加熱温度は 60〜 150°Cである。
[0027] つぎに、本発明の第 2のセルロース系高分子の選別除去方法である、セルロース系
高分子を含む被処理物を、酸触媒の存在下、エステル化剤と加熱反応させるセル口 ース系高分子を溶解'分散除去する方法について説明する。
[0028] エステル化剤は特に限定されな ヽが、有機酸、有機酸エステルおよび有機酸無水 物から選ばれた少なくとも一種を用いることが好ま U、。
[0029] ここで用いる有機酸としては、カルボン酸、有機スルホン酸、有機リン酸、アミノ酸、 及び反応を阻害しない官能基を有するこれらの化合物の誘導体などを挙げることが できるが、カルボン酸が好ましぐ特に酢酸が好ましい。
[0030] 有機酸エステルとしては、カルボン酸エステル、カルボン酸オルトエステル、有機ス ルホン酸エステル、有機炭酸エステル、有機リン酸エステル、有機オルトリン酸エステ ル、及び反応を阻害しな 、官能基を有するこれらの化合物の誘導体などを挙げるこ とができる力 カルボン酸オルトエステルでは酢酸オルトエステルが好ましぐ有機炭 酸エステルではジアルキル炭酸エステルが好ましい。
[0031] 有機酸無水物としては、無水酢酸、無水プロピオン酸、無水酪酸、無水吉草酸、無 水ラウリン酸、無水パルミチン酸、無水ステアリン酸、無水マロン酸、無水コハク酸、無 水グルタル酸、無水アジピン酸、無水アクリル酸、無水クロトン酸、無水ォレイン酸、 無水マレイン酸、無水安息香酸、無水桂皮酸、無水フタル酸、無水酢酸安息香酸、 アミノ酸無水物、及び反応を阻害しな!、官能基を有するこれらの化合物の誘導体な どを挙げることができるが、無水カルボン酸が好ましぐ特に無水酢酸が好ましい。な お、有機酸無水物をエステル化剤として用いる場合には、突沸などを防止するため に、前記した第 1の方法で説明した溶媒の存在下で加熱反応を行うことが望ましい。
[0032] 本発明の第 2のセルロース系高分子の選別除去方法における酸触媒としては、前 記第 1の方法と説明したものと同様な酸触媒が使用される。
また、この第 2の方法においても、その実施にあたり、第 1の方法と同様に溶媒ゃ界 面活性剤を存在させることが好ましぐまた加熱温度も第 1の方法と同様な条件が採 用される。
[0033] また、前記第 1および第 2のいずれの方法においても、加熱処理後、セルロース系 高分子の溶解、分散、微粉化反応を促進させるために、更に溶媒及び Z又はアル力 リ性物質、又は溶媒に溶解したアルカリ性物質をカ卩えておくことが好ま 、。
[0034] アルカリ性物質としては、特に制限はないが、たとえば、水酸化ナトリウム、炭酸ナト リウム、アンモニアなどの無機化合物の他に、ジメチルァミン、ジェチルァミン、トリメチ ルァミン、トリェチルァミンなどの有機化合物を挙げることができる。アルカリ性物質の 使用量には、特に制限はないが、用いた酸触媒を中和する量以上を加えると特に効 果的である。
[0035] 本発明方法を実施するには、セルロース系高分子を含む被処理物を酸触媒の存 在下、溶媒やエステル化剤と加熱反応させればよい。
このような特有な条件により、前記したように、溶媒中での加熱によりセルロース系 高分子は選択的に分解 (粉末化)され、エステル化剤の存在下ではセルロース系高 分子は選択的に溶解或いは分散、粉末化されるが、セルロース系高分子以外の他 の被処理物の形態は変化せず固体のままであるから、両者は篩!、や固液分離等の 手段により簡単に選別することができる。
[0036] 本発明の具体的な実施態様に特別な制限はないが、好ましい実施の態様としては 、セルロース系高分子を含む被処理物を、酸触媒を含有する溶媒に分散し加熱撹拌 する方法、酸触媒とエステル化剤を含浸させたセルロース系高分子を含む被処理物 を必要に応じ溶媒中で加熱する方法等が挙げられる。
また、セルロース系高分子を含む加工品がシート状の場合にはシートを、酸触媒を 含む溶媒やエステル化剤の中で移動しながら加熱する方法等が挙げられる。
し力しながら、本発明の実施の具体的な態様はこれらに限定されるものではない。
[0037] つぎに、本発明方法を実施するための代表的なセルロース系高分子の選別除去 装置の幾つかを以下に例示するが、本装置はこれらに限定されるものではな 、。
[0038] 図 1の装置は、酸触媒存在下で溶媒とセルロース系高分子を含む被処理物を加熱 する手段とびセルロース系高分子の分解物を分離回収する手段を備えたものである 。この装置によれば、セルロース系高分子を含む被処理物を、酸触媒を含む溶媒に 分散、又は Z及び溶解した後、加熱撹拌する方法によりセルロース系高分子を選別 除去することができる。
[0039] 図 2の装置は、図 1の装置において、あら力じめ、酸触媒と溶媒を、セルロース系高 分子を含む被処理に含有する手段を付設しておき、これに加熱する手段とセルロー
ス系高分子の分解物を分離回収する手段を備えたものである。この装置によれば、 シート状被処理物の連続処理といった機能が期待される。
[0040] 図 3の装置は、図 1の装置において、加熱処理後及び Z又は反応中に溶媒を回収 する溶媒回収手段を付設したものである。この装置によれば、少量の溶媒で大量の 被処理物の処理が可能になるといった機能が期待される。
[0041] 図 4の装置は、セルロース系高分子を含む被処理物をエステル化剤と溶媒および 酸触媒の存在下で加熱反応させる手段とセルロース系高分子の溶解物を分離回収 する手段を備えたものである。この装置によれば、セルロース系高分子を含む被処理 物を、エステル化剤を含む溶媒等に分散した後、加熱撹拌する方法によりセルロー ス系高分子を選別除去することができる。
[0042] 図 5の装置は、図 4の装置において、あらカゝじめ、エステル化剤、酸触媒および溶 媒を、セルロース系高分子を含む被処理物に含有させる手段を付設しておき、これ に加熱反応させる手段とセルロース系高分子の溶解物を分離回収する手段を備え たものである。この装置によれば、シート状被処理物の連続処理といった機能が期待 される。

[I] セルロース系高分子の選別除去方法であって、酸触媒の存在下、セルロース高分子 を含む被処理物と溶媒中で加熱することを特徴とするセルロース系高分子の選別除 去方法。
[2] セルロース系高分子の選別除去方法であって、酸触媒の存在下、セルロース系高分 子を含む被処理物とエステル化剤とを加熱反応させることを特徴とするセルロース系 高分子の選別除去方法。
[3] エステル化剤が、有機酸、有機酸エステルおよび有機酸無水物から選ばれた少なく とも一種であることを特徴とする請求項 2に記載のセルロース系高分子の選別除去方 法。
[4] 溶媒を存在させることを特徴とする請求項 2または 3に記載のセルロース系高分子の 選別除去方法。
[5] 溶媒がプロトン性溶媒または非プロトン性溶媒であることを特徴とする請求項 1または
4に記載のセルロース系高分子の選別除去方法。
[6] プロトン性溶媒が有機酸であることを特徴とする請求項 5に記載のセルロース系高分 子の選別除去方法。
[7] 有機酸が酢酸であることを特徴とする請求項 6に記載のセルロース系高分子の選別 除去方法。
[8] 溶媒が混合溶媒であることを特徴とする請求項 1および 4〜7の 、ずれかに記載のセ ルロース系高分子の選別除去方法。
[9] 被処理物がセルロース系高分子を含むカ卩ェ品であることを特徴とする請求項 1〜8の いずれかに記載のセルロース系高分子の選別除去方法。
[10] セルロース系高分子を含む加工品がセルロース系高分子を含む繊維、及び Z又は 繊維製品であることを特徴とする請求項 9に記載のセルロース系高分子の選別除去 方法。

[15] 酸触媒がブレンステッド酸であることを特徴とする請求項 1〜14のいずれかに記載の セルロース系高分子の選別除去方法。
[16] 酸触媒がルイス酸であることを特徴とする請求項 1〜15のいずれかに記載のセル口 ース系高分子の選別除去方法。
[17] 酸触媒が混合触媒であることを特徴とする請求項 1〜16のいずれかに記載のセル口 ース系高分子の選別除去方法。
[18] 酸触媒の形態が水溶液または非水溶液であることを特徴とする請求項 1〜17の ヽず れかに記載のセルロース系高分子の選別除去方法。
[19] 請求項 1〜18のいずれかに記載の加熱処理後に溶媒及び Z又はアルカリ性物質、 又は溶媒に溶解したアルカリ性物質を加えることを特徴とするセルロース系高分子の 選別除去方法。
[20] 加熱温度が 200°C以下であることを特徴とする請求項 1〜19のいずれかに記載のセ ルロース系高分子の選別除去方法。
[21] 加熱温度が 80〜150°Cであることを特徴とする請求項 1〜20のいずれかに記載の セルロース系高分子の選別除去方法。
[22] 請求項 1〜21のいずれかに記載の方法を実施するための装置であって、セルロース 系高分子を含む被処理物を酸触媒の存在下で溶媒及び Z又はエステル化剤と加熱 反応させる手段とセルロース系高分子の分解物または溶解物を選別回収する手段と を備えたセルロース系高分子の選別除去装置。
[23] 請求項 22に記載のセルロース系高分子の選別除去装置に、更に加熱反応後及び Z又は反応中に溶媒を精製回収する溶媒回収手段を付設したセルロース系高分子
の選別除去装置。
