Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Acylierung eines insbesondere Cellulose und/oder Hemicellulose und/oder Lignin aufweisenden Materials. Um bei milden Reaktionsbedingungen eine Acylierung des Materials in hohem Ausmaß zu erzielen und acylierte Materialien bereitzustellen, welche wasserabweisend sind und mit thermoplastischen Kunststoffen einfach zu Verbundwerkstoffen weiterverarbeitet werden können, ist erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, dass das Material mit einem Gemisch enthaltend a) 5 bis 95 Masse-% Isopropenylacetat und b) 95 bis 5 Masse-% einer oder mehrerer Carbonsäure(n) und/oder eines oder mehrerer Carbonsäurenanhydride(s) bei einer Reaktionstemperatur von 20 bis 200 °C und einer Verweilzeit von 2 Minuten bis 48 Stunden in Gegenwart eines Katalysators umgesetzt wird. Weiter hat die Erfindung ein nach dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren hergestelltes acyliertes Material und einen Verbundwerkstoff, welcher derartiges Material enthält, zum Gegenstand.
