Abstract
This invention relates to area of agriculture, in particular wine growing and concerns a new method of an inoculation. The invention may be also used in fruit and berry growing, decorative gardening and forestry. The purpose of the invention is to increase the yield of ecologically clean saplings, to increase their quality, and to reduce the net cost. The method of obtaining grafted and deep-rooted cuttings of a grapevine comprises connection of a grafter (1) and a stock (2) by a cline into a lateral cut of the grafter, having one internode and one bud, and deep rooting of the grafted material is effected without its stratification by landing in ground.
Description
METHOD FOR OBTAINING GRAFTED AND DEEP-ROOTED CUTTINGS OF THE GRAPEVINE «Gvelesiani»
Technical Field
This invention relates to area of agriculture, in particular wine growing and concerns a new method of an inoculation.
The invention may be also used in fruit and berry growing, decorative gardening and forestry.
Background Art
Most widespread is the method for obtaining and rooting of grapevine cuttings ( for phylloxera regions) by connecting a grafter and a stock by English engraftment with the subsequent stratification of a planting stock and its landing in the ground by the basis of a stock (the Encyclopedia of Wine Growing. Kishinev. The main edition of Moldavian Soviet
Encyclopedia, 1986. VoLl, p. 89). However, at cultivation of the grafted cuttings under said method, a greater share of expenses lays down on the care thereof in a stratification hothouse, and at excluding stratification, the grafted material has the low percent of establishment ~ 35-
40 % and the delayed vital functions.
Other methods in most cases are borrowed from fruit growing and decorative gardening, and are used extremely seldom or applied only in some cases in wine growing.
The purpose of the invention is the increase in the yield of ecologically clean saplings, increase in their quality and decrease of expenses, labor and time at cultivation. Disclosure of the Invention
By the proposed method, the grafter and the stock are connected by a cline into a lateral cut of the grafter, having one internode and one bud, and deep rooting of the grafted material is effected without its stratification by landing in ground by the basis of a stock. Thus lateral cut is made 1,5-2 cm below an bud of the grafter on depth of no more than
1/2 thickness of a cutting.
The yield of the obtained thus quality vine saplings makes 90-95 %. The increase in yield of quality saplings is effected due to improvement of conditions of accretion of the stock and the grafter under significant reduction of depth of copulation section on the grafter and active participation thereof in formation of the callus (see figs. 2, position. 3) and germinations of an bud.
Fig.l represents the grafted cutting of a grapevine, and Fig. 2 represents a grafted grape sapling in the age of four, five months.
The method is realized as follows.
For the grafter the cuttings of required breeds of the grapes are prepared, said cuttings consisting of one internode and one bud located at a distance of 1 cm from a top of the cutting, and for a stock - the cuttings of phylloxera stable vine of 30-35 cm length. Arousal of vital functions of cuttings of the grafter is performed by their keeping in water of a room temperature - 21 hour and of cuttings of a stock ~ 60 hours. Further, all the buds on the stock cutting are removed. The example of realization of an inoculation:
At 1,5 - 2 cm below a bud of the grafter (1) the lateral cut is made on depth of no more than 1/2 thickness of a cutting, and the top end of a stock (2) is cut off from two sides by a cline, which is inserted into the lateral cut on the grafter, and the place of connection of the grafter and the stock is tied up by raffia. The grafted cuttings are landed in ground without preliminary stratification by the basis of a stock.
The engrafted and the implanted cuttings are not subject both to chemical and mechanical treatment for stimulation of the growth of roots, bines and formation of the callus.
The use of an offered method enables: 1. to increase a yield of saplings up to 90-95 % from the landed grafted cuttings;
2. to obtain saplings of high quality;
3. to lower the net cost of saplings more than twice.
Claims
1. Method of obtaining grafted and deep-rooted cuttings of the grapevine comprising connection of a grafter and a stock with the subsequent rooting, characterized in that, the grafter and the stock are connected by a cline into a lateral cut of the grafter, having one internode and one bud, and deep-rooting of the grafted material is effected without its stratification by landing in ground.
2. Method according to cl.l characterized in that the lateral cut is made at 1.5-2 cm below a bud of the grafter on the depth of no more than 1A thickness of a cutting.
3. Grape sapling obtained according to method of cl. 1-2.
