Abstract

L'invention concerne des oxydes inorganiques particulaires hydrophobes utiles pour renforcer une composition polymère, par exemple le caoutchouc. Les produits en question se caractérisent comme suit : (a) absence substantielle de groupes fonctionnels capables d'entretenir une réaction chimique avec le caoutchouc ; (b) surface spécifique BET comprise entre 40 et 350 m2/g ; (c) teneur en hydroxyle comprise entre 2 et 25 OH/nm2 ; (d) teneur en carbone comprise entre 0,1 et 6 %, en poids, sensiblement non extractible ; (e) pH compris entre 3 et 10 ; (f) surface blanche standard M1 inférieure à 0,4 % et (g) mouillabilité au méthanol comprise entre 15 et 45 %. L'invention concerne aussi des compositions du type polymères, articles en caoutchouc organique durci, mélanges maîtres et suspensions épaisses contenant les charges hydrophobes ainsi décrites.
