- the transponders are chosen from among those which are able to withstand their particular operating environment which, in the case in question, may be subject to particularly severe conditions such as mechanical stressing due to the vacuum vibrocompaction step, the temperature to which the slab is exposed during catalysis, or the chemical attack due to the components contained in the mix such as, for example, a resin.
- a further use envisages memorizing the various processing steps which the slab has yet to undergo so as to manage and monitor the slab during the various stages of the entire production process.
- transponders of the passive type will preferably be used so as to allow an unlimited degree of autonomy.
- the transponders may be more than one, thus allowing the identification system to operate also in the case where one transponder should be faulty.
- transponder is employed to monitor the slab production and processing operations, it may also be used to ensure that the material remains traceable once it has left the production plant.
