- the present invention relates to an automatic machine for manufacturing shaped plate-like elements, particularly for packagings, thermal and acoustic insulations, and the like. Summary of the invention The aim of the invention is to provide, an automatic machine which allows to manufacture continuously plate-like elements which are the result of the coupling of a first ribbon of expanded plastic material, which is shaped so as to have undulations of any shape, and is joined to a flat ribbon, which in practice acts as a stabilizing element.
- an object of the invention is to provide an automatic machine that allows to work at a particularly high speed, without having structurally complicated elements which negatively affect operation of the machine.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide an automatic machine in which it is possible to considerably simplify all the shaping operations and to achieve very small undulation spacings and heights, obtaining a component which is particularly versatile and functional.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide an automatic machine which can be easily obtained starting from commonly commercially available elements and materials and is further competitive from a merely economical standpoint.

- the shaft 27 is supported on threaded posts 40, which by engaging a female thread 41 which is rigidly coupled to the end of the shaft 27 produce a translational motion of the shaft 27 in a radial direction with respect to the roller 11, so as to be able to vary the insertion.
- arrangement means are provided for arranging laterally adjacent thereto a second ribbon 55, which is preferably also made of expanded plastic material; said arrangement means are provided with a feed roller 51, in which the axis is substantially parallel to the axis of the roller 11 and is arranged on supports 52, which allow to vary the radial distance of the roller 51 from the roller 11 depending on the thickness of the ribbons used.
- the shaping means for the continuous shaping of the first ribbon there are coupling means for coupling, at least in discrete regions, the first and second ribbons, which in a preferred embodiment are constituted by a blower 60, which introduces a jet of hot air in the region for coupling the portions of the first ribbon which remain arranged above the outer ends of the wings 13, which are thus coupled to the second ribbon 50 in regions where the blower 60 in practice provides a localized melting which allows, at the moment of contact, to obtain mutual welding and joining.
- this type of coupling it is possible to vary at will the type of shaping of the bends that are used; moreover, by modifying the spacing of the insertion bars 20 it is possible to achieve a wide range of types of coupling and shaping.
