L'invention concerne un élément de mesure de force destiné à mesurer le poids d'une personne sur un siège de véhicule automobile, lequel élément peut être placé entre le siège (13) du véhicule automobile et la fixation (11) de siège du véhicule automobile et comporte un manchon (2) pouvant être fixé sur le siège du véhicule automobile et dans lequel est placé, horizontalement, un corps de mesure de force (3) oblong sur lequel sont placées des jauges extensométriques (18, 19, 20, 21), lequel corps est relié au manchon (2), de manière rigide, au niveau de sa première extrémité et peut être relié à la fixation (11) de siège au niveau de son autre extrémité, ledit manchon recouvrant le corps de mesure de force (3), y compris les jauges extensométriques (18, 19, 20, 21), jusqu'à un anneau (9) prévu sur le corps de mesure de force et l'espace annulaire (14), formé entre l'anneau (9) et le manchon (2), définissant le poids maximal pouvant être absorbé. Ladite invention se caractérise en ce que le corps de mesure de force (3) présente un alésage horizontal (15) transversalement à son extension longitudinale et, pour la mesure de la contrainte de flexion, les jauges extensométriques (18, 19, 20, 21) sont placées sur les barres de flexion (16, 17) formées à travers l'alésage (15) des deux côtés de ce dernier.
