- Such force measuring elements in which the shear stress is measured with the strain gauges, are known (DE 196 98 108, US 6,002,090, DE 100 35 483 AI, WO 02/08705 AI). Measuring the shear stress is intended to prevent forces independent of the weight from influencing the measurement result.
