Abstract

Cette invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de contrôler des articles tels que des bagages, faisant intervenir un écran tactile informatisé ou tout autre dispositif de pointage informatisé pour l'identification d'objets et leur marquage pour un examen ultérieur. Les bagages sont scannés électromagnétiquement (c'est-à-dire par rayons X) au cours de leur déplacement sur une bande transporteuse et une image électronique est prise de chaque article et stockée dans un ordinateur. Un opérateur placé devant un écran tactile visionne les images électroniques des articles à contrôler au fur et à mesure ce ces derniers défilent devant un ensemble de capteurs qui transmettent des images à l'écran tactile soit directement, soit par l'intermédiaire d'un ordinateur. L'opérateur « touche » manuellement à l'intérieur des articles les objets à identifier sur des écrans couplés de manière interactive et enregistre du même coup les objets repérés dans l'ordinateur. L'ordinateur fournit ensuite des informations séquentielles sur les mesures à prendre ainsi que sur les informations et données à enregistrer. Le système contrôle en permanence les articles qui défilent devant le poste de contrôle vers d'autres opérations de traitement, par exemple pour leur chargement final sur un véhicule comme bagage ou comme fret. Le présent système fait appel à une pluralité de dispositifs d'affichage, chacun avec un contrôleur en propre, situés le plus souvent à distance du point de contrôle. Chaque contrôle se poursuit indépendamment du balayage de le défilement des articles n'est pas interrompu, même si un contrôleur détecte un objet d'intérêt qui justifie un plus ample examen soit par écran, soit physiquement.
