Further, the path taken by the distal end of the arm assembly 14 during operation of the umbrella device allows the canopy 12 to be expanded away from the face of the user while the base 16 remains in an upright orientation. This advantageously allows the device to be held or secured upright in front of the user where it is convenient to operate.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif formant parapluie, possédant une toile, un mécanisme pour toile conçu pour déployer et replier ladite toile, une base, un ensemble de bras placé entre ladite base et ledit mécanisme pour toile. Cet ensemble de bras possède une extrémité proximale reliée pivotante à ladite base et une extrémité distale reliée pivotante audit mécanisme pour toile. Il est actionné par le pivotement de ladite extrémité proximale par rapport à ladite base, entre une configuration pliée et dépliée. Il se déplie lorsque ladite extrémité proximale pivote dans une premier sens de pivotement, et il se replie lorsque ladite extrémité proximale pivote dans un second sens de pivotement opposé. Le mécanisme pour toile peut être disposé dans un premier sens par rapport à ladite base selon ladite configuration pliée et dans un second sens par rapport à ladite base, sensiblement transversale au premier sens, selon la configuration dépliée.
