- In light of the devices disclosed in the prior art, it is submitted that the present invention substantially diverges in design elements from the prior art and consequently it is clear that there is a need in the art for an improvement to existing umbrella covers. In this regard the present invention substantially fulfills these needs.
- In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of umbrella covers now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an absorbent umbrella cover wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user when handling and storing a wet umbrella. The absorbent umbrella cover includes a sleeve having a base, a circumferential sidewall extending therefrom, and an open upper end defining an interior volume configured to receive an umbrella therein. A cover flap having a first side, a second side, a first end, and a second end is connected to an upper edge of the sleeve at the first end thereof. A pocket is disposed on the first side of the cover flap. The pocket may be used to grasp a wet umbrella without getting the hands wet. A fastener is disposed on the second side of the cover flap. The fastener removably secures the cover flap to the circumferential sidewall in order to secure the umbrella within the interior volume of the sleeve for storage.
- One object of the present invention is to provide an absorbent umbrella cover having all of the advantages of prior art umbrella covers and none of the disadvantages.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide an absorbent umbrella cover wherein the sleeve is composed of an absorbent material.
- A further object of the present invention is to provide an absorbent umbrella cover wherein the base is composed of an absorbent material and the circumferential side all extending therefrom is composed of a waterproof material.
- Other objects, features, and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
- Although the characteristic features of this invention will be particularly pointed out in the claims, the invention itself and manner in which it may be made and used may be better understood after a review of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like numeral annotations are provided throughout.
