Abstract

本発明は、(R)−3−ヒドロキシペンタンニトリル、光学活性3−ヒドロキシブタン酸エステル及び光学活性1−フェニルエタノール誘導体の光学活性アルコールの簡便な製法の提供、並びに、上記光学活性アルコール、特に(R)−3−ヒドロキシペンタンニトリルの製造に有用な新規酵素の提供を目的とする。 本発明は、3−ケトペンタンニトリルを不斉還元して、光学純度99%e.e.以上の(R)−3−ヒドロキシペンタンニトリルを生成しうる新規アセトアセチルCoA還元酵素;3−ケトペンタンニトリル、アセト酢酸エステル及び1−フェニルエタノン誘導体それぞれに、当該新規酵素もしくは既知のアセトアセチルCoA還元酵素を作用させ、対応する光学活性アルコールを製造する方法である。
