Description

BEVERAGE AND FOOD WHICH CONTAIN THE EXTRACT OF FOMES FOMENTARIUS
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to beverage and food containing the extract of the Fomes fomentarius, and more specifically functional beverage and food that can most effectively utilize many beneficial ingredients contained in the Fomes fomentarius.
BACKGROUND ART
The Fomes fomentarius is a kind of perennial mushroom belongs to Polyporaceae and widely distributed throughout the northern hemisphere including the Korean peninsula. The Fomes fomentarius parasites at a broadleaf trees such as a birch and a beech and rots the tree into a white marble phase. The fact that especially the Fomes fomentarius that parasites at a birch that grows at a severely cold highland over 2,000 meters height and under -20 °C (centigrade) contains many beneficial ingredients therein has been proved by many researches. According to a result of the research, the Fomes fementarius contains rich organic germanium(Ge) and beta glucan( β -glucan) , a kind of polysaccharide, 5 times as much as a ginseng so that it has a superior effect for a cancer and a glycosuria. Besides, it also has been known that the Fomes fomentarius has a superior effect for an ant i-oxidation of an oxygen free radical that causes many adult diseases. The Korean patent registration No. 10-0026900, filed to the Korean Patent Office on August 9, 1982, discloses the way to apply the diverse pharmaceutical ingredients of the Fomes fomentarius to beverages. According to the Korean patent, the Fomes fomentarius is mixed with other various mushrooms and Indian sweetening in water and the mixture is heated to get extract thereof. An organic acid is added to the extract and then the extract goes through a sterilization process to get the beverages. However, according to the Korean patent, the diverse organic acids added to the extract may destroy many beneficial pharmaceutical ingredients contained in the Fomes fomentarius and a total production process becomes complex because a centrifugal separator is used for removing impurities. In addition, a usage of the many beneficial pharmaceutical ingredients is confined only to beverages so that there exists a limit in a diverse application of the Fomes fomentarius.
