Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Beleuchtungseinheit mit mindestens einer Lichtquelle (10) und mindestens einem, der Lichtquelle nachgeschalteten transparentem Lichtleitkörper (20), der eine Mantelfläche und zumindest eine der Lichtquelle abgewandte Lichtaustrittsseite umfasst, wobei der Lichtleitkörper (20) die Lichtquelle (10) zumindest bereichsweise umgibt und die Lichtaustrittsseite (22) des Lichtleitkörpers (20) zumindest eine geschlossene, nicht ebene, eine optische Linse umgebende Aussenraumfläche umfasst, deren äussere Begrenzung weiter entfernt von der Lichtquelle (10) ist als die innere Begrenzung. Dazu liegt die Lichtquelle (10) und ein beliebiger Punkt (23) der Mantelfläche (28) des Lichtleitkörpers (20) auf einer gedachten Geraden, wobei die Gerade mit der Normalen in diesem Punkt einen Winkel einschliesst, der grösser ist als der Grenzwinkel der Totalreflexion am Übergang des Werkstoffes des Lichtleitkörpers (20) zur Umgebung der Beleuchtungseinheit. Die Mantelfläche (28) des Lichtleitkörpers (20) hat keinen Brennpunkt. Mit der vorliegenden Erfindung wird eine wiederholbar fertigbare Beleuchtungseinheit mit einer hohen Lichtausbeute entwickelt.
