Abstract

La présente invention concerne un élément structurel creux (30) destiné à un véhicule et une partie extrémité à absorption d'énergie monobloc (34) qui possède une épaisseur de paroi (T2) réduite de façon à déformer et à absorber la force d'un choc et, un site destiné à initier cette déformation. Ce site d'initiation comprend de préférence un évasement de la partie extrémité. Cette invention concernant aussi un procédé de formation de ces éléments structurels qui consiste à réduire l'épaisseur de paroi de la partie extrémité de l'élément et l'évasement subséquent de la partie extrémité.
