Definitions

  • the invention relates to a rear seat for a motor vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a rear seat comprises a seat underframe, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the seat and forms a seat for a seat user, and a backrest, which in a position of use protrudes from the seat and is oriented at an angle or perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the seat and which serves to support the back area of a seat user ,
  • the longitudinal direction of the seat corresponds to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, which runs in the forward direction from the rear end of the vehicle to the front end of the vehicle.
  • the backrest can be folded forward onto the seat surface so that it extends in the longitudinal direction of the seat. This allows additional transport space to be made available.
  • To fold the backrest forward it is generally mounted so that it can pivot about an axis that runs above the lower edge of the backrest (horizontally) transversely to the longitudinal direction of the seat. That is, the pivot axis about which the backrest can be folded onto the seat surface is located above the lower edge facing the seat surface or the lower free end of the backrest. This means that when the backrest is folded forwards towards the seat surface, the lower edge or the lower free end of the backrest is moved backwards (in the longitudinal direction behind the seat surface) and then projects beyond the seat surface at its rear end in the longitudinal direction of the seat. This can lead to difficulties in placing an object directly behind the seat of said seat, e.g. B. a spare wheel of the corresponding motor vehicle.
  • the invention is therefore based on the problem of creating a rear seat for a motor vehicle of the type mentioned at the outset, which is distinguished by a simple structure in that after the backrest has been folded forward onto the seat surface, none There is a restriction of a transport or storage space provided behind the seat.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the backrest is moved relative to the seat underframe during the forward displacement in the longitudinal direction of the seat. Abstract
