Abstract

La présente invention a trait à un procédé d'accusé de réception dans un système de communications sans fil. Initialement, une trame de voie retour supplémentaire (R-SCH) est reçue au niveau d'une station de base. Ensuite, la station de base transmet un signal d'accusé de réception (ACK) si la qualité de la trame de voie retour supplémentaire est spécifiée comme étant correcte. Un signal d'accusé de réception négatif (NAK) est transmis seulement si la qualité de la trame de voie retour supplémentaire est spécifiée comme étant défectueuse mais possède suffisamment d'énergie pour que, en combinaison avec l'énergie en provenance de la retransmission de la trame de données, elle serait adéquate pour permettre le décodage correct de la trame de données. Si la meilleure station de base est connue, le procédé d'accusé de réception peut inverser la transmission des signaux d'accusé de réception pour la meilleure station de base de sorte que le signal soit transmis. Un accusé de réception positif est présumé en l'absence d'un accusé de réception. Cela permet de minimiser les besoins en puissance de transmission.
