Description

The invention relates to a device for supplying propellant charges to a heavy weapon.
In an artillery gun with a heavy weapon, for example in the form of a self-propelled howitzer, it is known to feed the projectiles to the weapon by means of an automatically operating projectile delivery device. Such an artillery gun is described for example in EP 0 331 980 B1. In the case of such artillery pieces, the propellant charges have so far been supplied by the operating personnel by hand. The consequence of this is that, on the one hand, there must be sufficient space in the area behind the weapon for the operating personnel to be able to move there, which leads to a considerable enlargement of the overall device, example of the tower of a self-propelled howitzer, and that on the other hand, the space in which the operating personnel must be when operating the weapon must be provided with a particularly heavy armor protection, which leads to a considerable increase in the total weight of the device.
The invention has for its object to provide a device for supplying propellant charges to a heavy weapon, which enables a fully automatic supply of propellant charges, so that with the simultaneous automatic supply of the projectiles a fully automatic operation of the weapon is possible, so that on the weapon itself no more operating personnel has to work, which has the consequence that the spatial expansion and protective armor and thus the weight of an weapon system can be significantly reduced.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a device for supplying propellant charges to a heavy weapon with the following features:
a) im Bereich hinter der Waffe ist rechts und/oder links ein Treibladungsmagazin zur Aufnahme von Treibladungsmodulen angeordnet, aus dem die Treibladungsmodule an der Oberseite oder der der Waffe zugekehrten Seite entnehmbar sind;a) in the area behind the weapon, a propellant charge magazine for accommodating propellant charge modules is arranged on the right and / or left, from which the propellant charge modules on the top or on the side facing the weapon can be removed;
b) das Treibladungsmagazin besteht aus einzelnen, unabhängig voneinander taktbaren Segmenten, wobei jede Segmentposition ein Treibladungsmodul aufnehmen kann;b) the propellant charge magazine consists of individual segments which can be clocked independently of one another, each segment position being able to accommodate a propellant charge module;
There is at least one propellant charge arm that can be pivoted about a pivot axis parallel to the barrel core of the weapon
Waffe angeordnet, an dem eine parallel zur Rohrseelenachse der Waffe verlaufende Treibladungsladeschale angeordnet ist; d) durch Einzeltaktung der Segmente des Treibladungsmagazins ist die erforderliche Art und Anzahl von Treibladungsmodulen der Treibladungsladeschale zuführbar;Gun arranged on which a propellant charge shell running parallel to the barrel core of the weapon is arranged; d) the required type and number of propellant charge modules can be supplied to the propellant charge cradle by clocking the segments of the propellant charge magazine;
e) mittels des Treibladungsladearms ist die Treibladungsladeschale aus einer Aufnahmestellung neben einer Entnahmestation dese) by means of the propellant charge arm, the propellant charge shell is from a receiving position next to a removal station of the
Treibladungsmagazins in eine Abgabestellung schwenkbar, in welcher die Achse der Treibladungsladeschale fluchtend zur Rohrseelenachse verläuft;Propellant magazine can be pivoted into a delivery position in which the axis of the propellant charge shell is aligned with the tube core axis;
f) in der Treibladungsladeschale ist ein Treibladungsansetzer integriert, mittels dessen die Treibladungsmodule in der Treibladungsladeschale zusammenschiebbar und anschließend in den Laderaum der Waffe einschiebbar sind.f) in the propellant charge shell, a propellant charge integrator is integrated, by means of which the propellant charge modules can be pushed together in the propellant charge shell and then inserted into the loading space of the weapon.
The basic idea of the invention is to provide the modularly designed propellant charges in the desired number in the area behind the weapon in one or two propellant charge magazines, from which they can be brought into the area behind the weapon by one or two pivotable propellant charge arms on which propellant charge shells are arranged be swung in. In each case, a propellant charge integrator is integrated into the propellant charge cradle, by means of which the propellant charge modules are pushed together on the one hand to form the total propellant charge and on the other hand the total propellant charge is then fed to the loading space of the weapon.
Each propellant charge magazine consists of individual segments that can be clocked independently of one another, and each segment position can accommodate a propellant charge module.
The propellant charge magazines can be designed as drum, shaft, band or other magazines. The propellant charge modules are stored in them individually, i.e. not in an assembled form.
The individual timing of the segments of the respective propellant charge magazine supplies the required type and number of propellant charge modules to the propellant charge shell without residual quantities, as is the case with the known manual feed, in which the propellant charges are each provided in a six-pack.
However, it is also possible to arrange the propellant charge magazines in a tower-proof manner or pivotable about the shield pin. The then necessary angular movement towards the weapon can be done by swiveling the entire magazine, by an additional swiveling movement axis of the propellant loading arm or by a
Swiveling movement of the weapon itself can be achieved in an index position.
Depending on the number of modules required for a total propellant charge, the propellant charge modules are provided by clocking the segments in a removal station of the propellant charge magazine. The propellant charge arm with the propellant charge cradle is initially located in a receiving position in the region of the removal station, in which the propellant charge cradle is supplied with the propellant charge modules. The propellant charge device pushes the removed propellant charge modules together and, after the propellant charge arm has been swung into the delivery position, in which the axis of the propellant charge shell is aligned with the barrel core axis of the weapon, is pushed into the loading space of the weapon. The exact functional sequence is shown below using an exemplary embodiment.
It is particularly advantageous if, in the device according to the invention, two propellant charge magazines are arranged on the right and left symmetrically laterally behind the base of the weapon and the propellant charges are removed and fed to the weapon by two alternately working propellant charge arms. This has the advantage that individual magazines that are too large do not have to be set up and that the alternating operation of the two propellant charge arms makes it possible to extend the cycle time for the individual propellant charge arm. Redundancy is also obtained in the event that one of the two propellant charge supply devices fails.
Another advantage can be seen in the fact that with an overall weapon-fixed arrangement of the propellant charge delivery device behind the shield pin axis of the weapon, an imbalance reduction in the height-adjustable mass is achieved.
Hiermit wird die Vermeidung einesFinally, due to the full automation of the propellant charge supply, it is still possible for the locking lever of the weapon to be actuated automatically by the propellant charge arm when pivoting away from the delivery position. The propellant charge arm can be connected to the locking lever by means of an appropriately designed linkage. The weapon W has a weapon cradle 2 which pivots around the shield pin 1 and has a base piece 3 at its rear end. The weapon can be arranged in a manner not shown in the turret of a self-propelled howitzer or in the housing of another shooting module.
A propellant charge magazine 4, which is shown as a drum magazine, is arranged on the weapon cradle 2 via a holder 9. is, but can also be designed as a shaft magazine, tape magazine or the like. The propellant charge magazine consists of individual segments 4.1 to 4.6 which can be clocked independently of one another. In the segments 4.1 to 4.6 of the propellant charge magazine 4, individual propellant charge modules are arranged next to one another in planes perpendicular to the tube core axis R, which can be delivered in a clocked manner to a removal station 4.7. For this purpose, the segments 4.1 to 4.6 of the propellant charge magazine 4 can be rotated in the arrow direction D. On the weapon cradle 2, a propellant charge arm 5 is also arranged to be pivotable about a pivot axis X which runs parallel to the barrel core axis R of the weapon. The propellant charge arm 5 can be pivoted in the direction of the double arrow S between a pick-up position at the removal station 4.7 of the propellant charge magazine 4 and a delivery position in which the axis of a propellant charge shell 7, which is attached to the propellant charge arm 5 and runs parallel to the tube core axis R, is aligned with the tube core axis R the gun runs. 1 and 2, the position of the propellant charge arm 5 and the propellant charge shell 7 is shown in solid lines in an intermediate position between the two end positions shown in dashed lines. In the charging cradle 7, a propellant charge generator 8 is integrated, which is capable of pushing the propellant charge modules introduced into the propellant charge cradle 7 in the direction of the arrow V, in order then, as explained in more detail below, after the propellant charge arm 5 has been pivoted into the delivery position in the direction of the arrow Z To feed the weapon.
The functioning of the device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is explained in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 3 to 7.
Gem. 7 shows another last step of the process as an example. After the propellant charge applicator 8 has moved back to the rear position, the propellant charge arm 5 swivels again in the direction of arrow S1 into the receiving position at the removal station 4.7 of the propellant charge magazine 4 and further propellant charges M7, M8 and M9 become segments 4.1, 4.2 and 4.5 of the propellant charge case 7 fed. This process corresponds to the initial state according to FIG. 3, and the function continues now, as shown and described in FIGS. 4 and following.
