Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung beansprucht photovoltaische Zellen die eine zusätzliche katalytische Zwischenschicht zwischen Photoelektrode und Gegenelektrode aufweisen und die einen Elektrolyten enthalten, der zumindest eine ionische Flüssigkeit und eine zur Ausbildung eines Redox-Systems befähigte Mischung aufweist. Die erfindungsgemäßen photovoltaischen Zellen, zeigen unter hoher Bestrahlungsstärke von ca. 100 bis 1000 Watt/m2 einen deutlich höheren Wirkungsgrad als bekannte vergleichbare Zellen ohne zusätzliche katalytische Zwischenschicht.
