Abstract

The invention relates to the manufacturing of a folding-packet type packaging for cigarettes, preferably a container-type packaging, wherein a blank, consisting of a main blank section (17) and a collar (15) joined in a single-piece thereto, is used. The entire blank arising therefrom is processed according to the cross-winding principle. The collar (15) is connected to the packaging blank (17) by means of a folding line (41) located on the edge in the region of outer packet side lobe (18).

The invention relates to a folding box for cigarettes or cigarette packs, consisting of a one-piece package blank made of (thin) cardboard to form a box part with a box front wall, box rear wall, box side walls and a lid with front lid, lid rear wall and lid. Side walls, a collar integrally connected to the package blank on one side of the same being foldable against an inside of the package blank during manufacture of the hinged box.

Such blanks are usually processed according to the principle of cross winding.

The invention is based on the object of further developing and improving a folding box egg of the type mentioned at the outset and its cutting, so that it is possible to manufacture folding boxes on powerful packaging machines.

To achieve this object, the hinged box according to the invention or a blank for producing the same is characterized by the following features:

a) the package blank forms successive or adjoining areas for outer box side flaps and lid side flaps, box egg front wall and lid front wall, box side wall and lid side wall, box rear wall and lid rear wall, and one on the edge Connection strip for connection to the opposite side tab, b) the collar is attached to a free edge of the side tab. When the folding box is manufactured, the collar is folded into the correct position for the pack, resting against the side tabs, the front wall of the box and the side wall of the box. Now the blank can be folded around the contents of the pack, whereby the (centrally positioned) box side wall with the lid side wall can be placed against a narrow side of the object to be wrapped and can be further processed by U-folding.

In a special way, the collar is designed as part of an overall cut, specifically with regard to the course of an upper collar edge, with regard to the position relative to the package cut and with regard to the dimension.

Hinged boxes made from a blank according to the invention are particularly advantageously suitable as packs for cigarettes, that is to say for holding a group of cigarette packs. A special feature is that due to the corresponding dimensions of the blank and the folding box made from it, a group of five cigarette packs arranged next to one another is arranged in an upright position within the folding box. Furthermore, two container folding boxes designed in this way can be connected to one another to form a divisible or detachable unit, the folding boxes lying against one another with base walls and being detachably connected to one another, for example, by adhesive tabs or the like. According to a further special feature, the large pack sides of the cigarette packs are arranged next to one another and stacked one above the other in the folding box acting as a pack, in particular with the rear wall lying on the front wall.

Further special features of the folding box according to the invention or of the cut are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. It shows:

The exemplary embodiments shown in the drawings are hinged boxes for holding a group of packs, namely cigarette packs 10. These are likewise hinged boxes of basically known design. The group is arranged in a large-volume packaging in the form of a hinged box. The cigarette pack 10 is positioned in the exemplary embodiment of FIGS. 1, 2 in two pack groups 11, 12 arranged one above the other. The cigarette packs 10 are positioned within the pack groups 11, 12 in a row next to one another and aligned one above the other such that in each case two cigarette packs 10 are arranged exactly one above the other, with a total of ten cigarette packs 10. The pack content thus formed completely fills the pack or hinged box.

The folding box consists, as is generally the case, of a lower box part 13 and an (upper) lid 14. Inside the folding box there is a collar 15. This sits with a predominant, lower section inside the box part 13. A protruding from the box part 13, the upper collar head 16 is covered by the cover 14 in the closed position.

The hinged box as a whole consists of a one-piece blank, namely an overall blank according to FIG. 3. A pack blank 17 as part of the overall blank forms cutting regions delimited from one another by embossing lines, namely in the transverse direction successively a box side flap 18 on the edge with lid side flaps 19 adjoining at the top Adjacent to this is a box front wall 20 with an adjoining lid front wall 21. A box side wall 22 with a lid side wall 23 follows in the transverse direction. At the free edge of the box rear wall 24 there is a box strip 26 with a corresponding cover strip 27. The remaining connections 29, 30 are cut when the cover 14 is opened for the first time. Box rear wall 24 and lid rear wall 25 are delimited from one another by an articulated line 31, which is designed as a punched line in partial areas. The punching line 28 runs in the area of the box side tab 18 and in the area of the box side wall 22 obliquely downwards to a transverse section of the punching line 28 in the area of the box front wall 20. In the middle of the box front wall 20 is on the punching line 28 below it, an opening 32 is formed, which is semicircularly limited and makes it easier to open the hinged box when it is used for the first time.

An upper end wall 33 of the lid 14 and a lower bottom wall 34 of the box part 13 each consist of a plurality of folding tabs folded over one another, which are arranged in an extension of the walls 19, 21, 23, 25 or the walls 18, 20, 22 and 24 , In the area of box side flaps 18 and lid side flaps 19 and in the area of box side wall 22 and lid side wall 23, trapezoidal corner flaps 35, 36 are arranged, which in the finished folding box lie on the inside of end wall 33 and bottom wall 34 , In the area of the box front wall 20 and in the area of the lid front wall 21, an essentially rectangular inner tab 37 is attached. This is slightly smaller than the area of the front wall 33 and bottom wall 34. The inner tab 37 bears against the outside of the corner tabs 35, 36. Outer cover flaps 38 are arranged in the region of the box rear wall 24 and the cover rear wall 25. The cover flaps 38 form the outside or outer layer of the end wall 33 and bottom wall 34. The cover flaps 38 correspond exactly in size and contour to the end wall 33 and the bottom wall 34.

A special feature is the positioning of the collar 15 as part of the overall cut. The collar 15 connects to the box side tab 18, with one of two collar tabs 39, 40. The collar tab 40 is connected via a fold line 41 to a free edge of the box side tab 18. The fold line 41 is formed by punching or partial cuts so that easy tension-free folding is possible.

The collar 15 has in the region of a central collar front wall 42 a customary central recess 43 which is delimited by an upper collar edge 44. Starting from a collar corner 45, this extends at an incline, while continuing the oblique course over the two collar flaps 39, 40. In the region of the box side flap 18, the collar edge 44 connects exactly to the end of the punching line 28, however at a slightly different angle.

In the manufacture of the box, the collar 15 is folded around the fold line 41 in a first folding step until it lies against the inside of the package blank 17 (FIG. 4). The collar tab 40 rests on the inside of the box side tab 18. This first folding step is preferably already carried out during the manufacture of the blank in a paper or cardboard box production, so that 15 partially folded blanks which have already been prepared for the collar are delivered for further processing. The collar front wall 42 covers part of the box front wall 20 and the lid front wall 21. Furthermore, the collar flap 39 lies on the box side wall 22. In this folded position, the collar 15 is only in the area of the box side tab 18 connected to the package blank 17, namely by (two) glue points 46. This first folding step is expediently carried out by the blank manufacturer, so that blanks in the form according to FIG. 4 are delivered or fed to the packaging machine.

The blank can now be folded around the block-shaped package contents, the box side wall 22 and lid side wall 23 expediently being applied to the package contents and the blank being folded in a U-shape. To complete a sleeve-shaped intermediate folding position, the box strip 26 is connected to the free side of the collar flap 40 by gluing. Correspondingly, the cover strip 27 separated from the box strip 26 is also connected to the inside of the cover side tab 19 by gluing. After that the Folding flaps to form the end wall 33 and the bottom wall 34 are folded and connected to one another by adhesive bonding.

Due to the course of the punched line 28 on the one hand and the contours of the collar 15, in particular the collar edge 44 on the other hand, the collar edge 44 extends obliquely downward in the region of the box side flap 18 and in the region of the box side wall 22 from the front side of the hinged box to the rear , while a closing edge formed by the punch line 28 is directed obliquely upwards from the front to the rear. Collar edge 44 and closing edge or stamping line 28 converge at an acute angle and in a rear contact point 48.

Because of the above pack construction, box strips 26 and cover strips 27 are separated from one another at the level of the hinge line 31 by a wedge-shaped punch 49. This creates obliquely directed edges of box strips 26 and cover strips 27 corresponding to the course of the closing edge and collar edge 44 (FIG. 5). The angle defined by the punched-out 49 is somewhat larger than the angle defined by the collar edge 44 and the closing edge in the region of the pack sides, such that the oblique edges of the box strip 26 and the cover strip 27 delimiting the punched-out 49 are not visible from the outside (FIG. 5).

A special feature is the design of the hinged box with round packing edges 50, 51 in the area of box part 13 and cover 14 and in the area of the collar 15. The rounding of the packing edges 50, 51 is in particular dimensioned such that they match the dimensions of the pack content in this area are adapted, in particular to curves of cigarettes - in the case of cigarette packs 10 - or to the curves of cigarette packs 10 with upright rounded edges (FIG. 2). The curves of the packaging edges 50, 51 can also have a larger radius. The collar 15 is designed such that, after the first folding step (FIG. 4), round edges 52, 53 of the collar 15 lie exactly on the associated packing edges 50, 51 of the front wall 20 of the box. Furthermore, the collar 15 is designed, namely with regard to the course of the collar edge 44, that the point of contact 48 lies outside the region of the round packaging edges 50, 51 (FIG. 5). Furthermore, the inner folding tabs of the end wall 33 and bottom wall 34 are formed on the basis of punchings 54 in such a way that they are formed outside the region of the round packaging edges 50, 51. In an analogous manner, the pack can also be formed with inclined edges, that is, bevelled pack edges, creating an octagonal pack in cross section.

In the case of a pack for pack contents formed in two stack groups 11, 12 arranged one above the other, the collar 15 is dimensioned such that a lower edge 55 extends a short distance above the bottom wall 34. The collar 15 is dimensioned such that the cigarette packs 10 of both pack groups 11, 12 are supported in a stable manner. This means that the collar extends at least to below a center of the cigarette packs 10 of the lower pack group 12.

A special feature is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7. A pack made as a hinged box consists of two partial packs 56, 57. Each of these partial packs 56, 57 is a hinged box with the features of the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 5. The only difference is the dimensions of the cut and thus the hinged box or Partial pack 56, 57. Each partial pack 56, 57 is in fact dimensioned such that a pack group 11 or 12 of five cigarette packs 10 is accommodated in a partial pack 56, 57. The cigarette packs 10 are arranged in the same way as the pack groups 11, 12 in the hinged box according to FIG. 2, that is to say in an upright position while completely filling the space. In this exemplary embodiment, too, a collar 15 extends directly into the area of a bottom wall 34, so that the collar front wall 42 and collar tabs 39, 40 support the (individual) packing group 11, 12 over almost the full height.

In the area of adjacent narrow side walls, the exemplary embodiment shown in each case has a connecting element, namely an adhesive label 58 with a weakening line, namely a perforation line 59 in the region of the abutting bottom walls 34. The unit shown in FIG. 6 can be shared by the dealer or consumer by cutting the perforation line 59. The arrangement of the partial packs 56, 57 is selected such that they are arranged reversed, that is to say box front wall 20 of one partial pack 56 on the same side as box rear wall 24 of the other partial pack 57.

A further peculiarity results from FIG. 8. Here, too, a hinged box - with packaging edges which are rectangular in cross section - is designed as a pack for a number of cigarette packs 10. The special feature is the arrangement of the cigarette packs 10 within the hinged box. These are positioned in the hinged box with large-area packing sides, namely with the front and back side-by-side. Their floor plan dimension is accordingly chosen so that it corresponds to the dimension of a front or back of a standard cigarette pack 10. The height of the hinged box corresponds to the number of cigarette packs 10 lying flat one above the other, in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 8 the height of five cigarette packs 10.
