Definitions

  • the present invention relates to chronograph mechanisms, which allow the measurement of a time counted from a given instant, controlled by pressing push-buttons.
  • a watch fitted with such a mechanism is, for example, described in the work entitled "Clockwork theory" Chs-A. Reymondin et al. ISBN 2-940025-10- X, page 232 and following.
  • These watches generally include two push-pieces intended for one to ensure the start and stop of the counter ensuring the measurement of the timed time, the other for resetting this counter. This time is displayed by means of at least one hand, generally placed in the center of the movement and indicating the time in seconds.
  • the aim of the present invention is to propose a chronograph mechanism making it possible to measure the duration of two events taking place according to an alternative process.
  • This mechanism is intended to cooperate with a movement comprising: • a frame intended to carry the components of the movement,
  • this mechanism is characterized in that:
  • the timed time counting means comprise first and second chronograph cogs, each intended to carry a hand, which ensure the display of a first and a second timed time respectively
  • the connecting means comprise first and second clutches, intended to connect the finishing train with respectively the first and the second chronograph train,
  • the actuating means comprise: a control device arranged so as to engage or trigger one or the other clutch, and
  • a switching device arranged in such a way that its activation causes the triggered clutch to be triggered and the triggered clutch to be engaged.
  • the actuation means further comprise an initialization device, arranged to control the resetting of the timed time counting means.
  • its switching device includes a locking structure arranged so that it can only be actuated when one of the chronograph wheels is engaged.
  • the locking means cooperate with the actuation means, so that the initialization means cannot be activated when one of the chronograph wheels is engaged.
  • FIG. 1 shows a watch comprising a mechanism according to the invention
  • FIG. 2 represents a diagram of the operation of this watch
  • Figures 3 to 6 show the mechanism according to the invention, in different positions, corresponding to the main steps encountered during operation.

  • the hands 20 and 21 are arranged concentrically with the hands 18 and 19. They are driven respectively by a first and by a second counter and intended to display the seconds of a first and a second time. stopwatch.
  • Hands 22 and 23, which are off-center and associated with a small dial not referenced and placed at three, ensure the display of the minutes of the first and second timed times respectively.
  • the hands 20 to 23 therefore take the place of means for displaying timed times.
  • the needles 20 and 22 respectively 21 and 23 can be identified in pairs, because of their different shapes or colors.
  • Figure 2 shows, schematically, the effect that generates pressure on one or the other of the pushers.

  • the position of the pawl 69d, pressing against the pin 69e, is ensured by a spring F69d.
  • the lever 71 is subjected to a spring F71 which tends to resist the force applied by the pusher 26.
  • a spring F72a is pressed against the body 72a, so that the heels come to bear against the hearts when neither the noses nor the pin 72a are no longer retained by the arm 71c and the columns of the wheels 661 and 662 respectively ( figure 6).
  • the column wheels 661 and 662 and the coordination wheels 67 and 68 are positioned by jumper springs, not shown in the drawing.
  • actuation means provide both a control and switching function. They thus constitute a control device, essentially formed by the rocker 61 and the levers 621 and 622, and a switching device formed essentially by the switching lever 64 and the selector lever 65.
  • the pawl 621b drives the column wheel 661, so that the nose 521b is between two columns and the rocker 521 moves until the wheel 521a meshes with the wheel 421.
  • the counter of first timed time is engaged.
  • the pawl 61c cooperating with the star wheel 67a drives the coordination wheel 67.
  • the tilting of the lever 64 brings the pin 64c into the space swept by the pusher 25, thus ensuring a clutch structure function, allowing actuation of the switching device, as will be explained below.
  • These lever movements have no immediate effect, they only place these parts so that they can be activated later, as will be explained below.
  • the hammer 72 also pivots when the pusher 24 is actuated. In fact, because of the rotation of the column wheel 661, the nose 721c is lifted by a column. The heels 72 ld, 722d, 721e and 722e then release the wheels from the chronograph wheels, in particular the wheels 421 and 422.
  • state B actuation of the pusher 24 causes, in a manner similar to what has been described with reference to FIG. 3, the displacement of the rocker 61, which causes the column wheel 661 to rotate a new step and the coordination wheel 67.
  • the rotation of the column wheel 661 brings the nose 521b into abutment against a column, so that the wheel 521a is again disengaged from the wheel 421.
  • the mechanism is then in state C, that is to say that the first counter is stopped and displays the first timed time, while the second counter is at zero. In this state, the mechanism occupies the same position as that shown in FIG. 3.
  • states A and C There are however two differences between states A and C. On the one hand the timed first time counter is no longer at zero, and d 'other hand, the hammer 72 is in the release position of the wheels and not in the initialization position. These differences do not appear in Figure 3.
  • the pin 64c pushes simultaneously the levers 621 and 622, pressing against their fingers 62 ld and 622d, so that the pawls 621c and 622c drive the column wheels 661 and 662 respectively.
  • the rocker 521 which was between two columns, passes against a column, while rocker 522, which was against a column, falls between two columns. In this way, the wheel 521a is disengaged from the wheel 421, which interrupts the counting of the first timed time, and the wheel 522a is engaged with the wheel 422, which starts the counting of the second timed time.
  • a pressure on the pushbutton 24 causes, in a similar manner to what has been explained above, the pivoting of the rocker 61, which drives the arm 65c which is in a position such that its pin 65d controls the lever 622 only.
  • the latter rotates the column wheel 662 by one step, so that the lever 522 abuts against a column and the wheel 522a and is disengaged from the wheel 422.
  • the second counter like the first, is therefore stopped , which therefore corresponds to state E, in which the parts represented in the drawing occupy the same position as in state C.
  • the only difference lies in the position of the hand 21 which displays a time, whereas at state C, it is zero.
