  • liquid crystal displays For the display of information related to the operation of the vehicle or its accessories, liquid crystal displays (LCD) are now used. Luminescent displays such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) or fluorescent vacuum displays, commonly known by the acronym VFD (vacuum fluorescent display), are also used. These include a triode type cathode ray tube with a heated emitting cathode, accelerator grids and anodes coated with phosphorus. The grids and the anodes are arranged according to a determined pattern corresponding to the information that one wishes to display. Such a display has the advantage of being very bright when it is active. Note that its surface is black when it is not. The image formed is therefore well contrasted and distinguishes itself satisfactorily at usual distance.
