Abstract

L'invention concerne un article à paroi mince, tel qu'un plateau biodégradable, formé au moyen d'un procédé utilisant un mélange constitué essentiellement de farine de blé. Le procédé consiste à soumettre le mélange à une pression dans un moule chauffé destiné à cuire ledit mélange sous pression en vue de produire l'article, à ajouter de l'eau au mélange, cette eau présentant un poids combiné inférieur à 23 % du poids total dudit mélange, lequel présente la consistance d'une poudre humidifiée avant son introduction dans le moule, puis à mélanger et traiter rapidement le mélange tout en permettant l'ajout de divers additifs dans ce mélange. Ces additifs peuvent comprendre un colorant en poudre, un amidon prégélatinisé, un agent de liaison (par ex., une gomme de guar), un humectant (par ex., du D-sorbitol), une fibre de cellulose (par ex., une fibre alimentaire naturelle) ou un agent de conservation (par ex., du benzoate de sodium).
