Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé qui permet de former des germes cristallins d'un homopolymère ou d'un copolymère de propylène, le procédé consistant à mettre en contact le polymère de propylène avec un agent nucléant polymère semi-cristallin ramifié ou couplé, dans des conditions de nucléation. Dans une forme de réalisation, l'homopolymère de propylène se caractérise en ce qu'il présente des pics RMN du 13C correspondant à un défaut de régiosélectivité à environ 14,6 et environ 15,7 ppm, les pics étant sensiblement d'égale intensité. Dans une autre forme de réalisation, le copolymère se caractérise en ce qu'il comprend au moins environ 60 pour cent en poids ( % en poids) d'unités dérivées du propylène et en ce qu'il présente au moins une des propriétés suivantes: (i) des pics RMN du 13C correspondant à un défaut de régiosélectivité à environ 14,6 et environ 15,7 ppm, les pics étant sensiblement d'égale intensité, (ii) une valeur B supérieure à environ 1,4 lorsque la teneur en comonomère, c'est-à-dire, les unités dérivées de l'éthylène et/ou du ou des comonomères non saturés, du copolymère est d'au moins environ 3 % en poids, (iii) un indice d'asymétrie, Six, supérieur à environ -1,20, (iv) une courbe de calorimétrie à balayage différentiel ayant une Tme qui reste globalement la même et une Tmax qui diminue à mesure qu'augmente la quantité de comonomère, c'est-à-dire, les unités dérivées de l'éthylène et/ou du ou des comonomères non saturés, présentes dans le copolymère, et (v) un diagramme de diffraction des rayons X qui indique la présence de plus de cristaux de forme gamma qu'un copolymère comparable préparé avec un catalyseur Ziegler-Natta (Z-N).
