Definitions
- the present invention relates to a cycle parking device protecting it against theft.
- a bicycle box has been proposed to remedy this situation.
- a box is a completely closed and individual parking enclosure for bicycles.
- the majority of existing boxes do not correspond to the concept of street furniture. Both in materials and shapes and in volumes, their appearance is generally heavy. Such devices are therefore difficult to harmonize with an urban environment with a certain architectural quality.
- the present invention aims to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks and to provide an effective solution to the problems of space while ensuring high reliability against theft.
- an anti-theft parking device as defined in main claim 1. This parking device protects the cycle against theft.
- the advantages conferred by the device according to the invention result from the combination of the curved return element at the front of the device and the retaining means, said front curve preventing theft of the wheel, in particular before the cycle. on the one hand, and the retaining means and said front curve ensuring the stability of the cycle. More particularly, the padlock completes jamming the bicycle and considerably hinders its theft and dismantling.
- the stability of the bicycle ensured by the invention constitutes a surprising functionality while offering additional comfort to the user.
- this device is extremely convenient to use and allows fast and efficient parking.
- the realization of the device ensures the complete immobilization of the bicycle using a padlock. Once in place, the bicycle is in contact with its support at a minimum of six points.
- the device is designed to efficiently accommodate one or more padlocks.
- the main advantages of this configuration are: the stability of the bicycle once placed in the device as well as the protection by blocking the saddle, the frame and the two wheels.
- an open type device distinguished from closed type devices by their small size.
- the open structure of the device saves operators a tedious cleaning making it at the same time less exposed to expensive vandalism. Open structures integrate seamlessly and easily into our urban environments. The slender appearance of the device gives it a certain lightness which appreciably increases its appeal in addition to its reliability.
- the device according to the invention has the particularity of providing protection for the saddle of a bicycle, both from the anti-theft point of view and from that of protection against rain.
- Figures 1 to 5 illustrate a bicycle engaged in the cycle parking device according to the invention in a lateral, rear, top view and in perspective respectively.
- FIGS 6 to 10 show similar views of the device according to the invention according to Figures 1 to 5 respectively without cycle.
- FIGS 11 to 15 illustrate a variant of the device according to the invention in the same views as in Figures 6 to 10 respectively.
- FIG. 16 illustrates yet another variant of the device according to the invention.
- Figure 17 is a detail view of a feature of an additional variant of the device according to the invention.
- FIG. 18 represents an enlarged detail view of a particular feature of the device according to FIG. 17.
- Figures 19 to 22 illustrate another feature of the device according to the invention.
- Description Figure 1 illustrates a protection device for cycles, in particular bicycle, comprising anti-theft elements allowing the parking of a cycle 1 while protecting it against theft.
- the parking device of a cycle comprises a base 11 and a retaining means 20 cooperating with the base 11.
- Said base 11 comprises an upright 12 and a bent element 28.
- the retaining means 20 comprises a return part 23 substantially bent connecting to an elongated portion 12, wherein the aforementioned bent element 28 retains one of the wheels 3, 4 of the cycle.
- each of the elements cited below is protected against theft: the frame 2, the rear wheel 4 and respectively front 3, and the saddle 5.
- the assembly constituted by the anchoring means 13, the upright 12, and the flange 14 is in one piece.
- the base 13 can advantageously be anchored in the ground, for example by bolting in the latter.
- anchoring means in the ground can be constituted by plates 13 or sealed by coring as illustrated in FIGS. 6 to 10, or removable by sheaths bolted to the ground as illustrated in FIGS. 11 to 15.
- An additional holding element 28 is provided, which is intended to receive and surround one of the wheels, preferably the front wheel 3, of the cycle.
- the additional holding element 28 consists of a flange which is connected by one of its free ends to the aforementioned base 13 and, by its other free end, to the upright 12 of the base 10.
- the flange 28 is fixed to the ground by one end while it is fixed by the other end to the upright 11 of the base 10 at a certain height h relative to the base.
- this height allows the part to follow exactly the shape of the saddle for better protection of the latter.
- This asymmetrical arrangement of the flange clearly illustrated in FIGS. 14, 15 and 16 in particular, allows more convenient reception of the front wheel at the time of the introduction on the one hand while allowing the use of a single upright 11 for the base on the other hand to ensure the fixing of the flange which always has two ends.
- the height arrangement of a flange 28 of the flange allows a more secure accommodation of the bicycle in the device.
- the clamp is taken higher on one side of the front wheel 3 as illustrated in Figures 1 and 16 in particular.
- Another advantage lies in the adequacy of this arrangement in relation to the regulations as regards blind people.
- the above-mentioned flange is welded to the retaining means.
- FIG. 16 shows, as a variant, the device produced in one piece.
- the device for maintaining a cycle comprises a base 11 and a retaining means 20 cooperating with said base 11, between an open position and a closed position B folded back on the cycle to be protected.
- Said base 11 comprises an upright 12 connecting for example to anchoring zones 13 provided on the ground 40.
- the retaining means 20 comprises a return portion 23 substantially bent connecting to an elongated portion 22 sliding in an adjustable manner in the upright 12 of the above-mentioned base with adjustable height.
- Another advantage of the anti-theft rod 20 adjustable in the upright 12 of the aforementioned base with an adjustable height, is the extremely wide range of bicycles in which this anti-theft device can be used effectively. This goes from the use for small bikes for children where a very low position of the rod, - not shown - will be implemented, while for larger bikes, the safety position of the anti-theft device will be a higher position such as illustrated in Figure 17 before closing the device.
- Said elongated part of the aforementioned retaining means 20 comprises a series of passage orifices 24 arranged substantially axially along the above-mentioned elongated part 22 on either side of the latter for passing the padlock.
- the return element 23 has a shape adapted to that of a cycle saddle so as to be able to fit the cover 30 thereof when it is in the closed position B of the device, as illustrated in FIG. 21.
- a saddle protection element 30 which consists of a cover provided with at least one reciprocal movement limitation means 31, 32 between the retaining element 23 on the one hand, and the protection element saddle 30 on the other hand.
- Said cover 30 preferably has an enlarged zone 33 intended to cooperate with the enlarged zone of the saddle.
- Said opening 31 allows the free end of the anti-theft rod 20 to be housed therein so as to prevent the cover 30 from being removed. This therefore improves the anti-theft functions of the system, on the one hand, and protects the saddle against rain, on the other.
- the orifice 31 thus constitutes a means of limiting movement which is arranged in the enlarged zone of the aforementioned protective means 30 at a short distance from the edge thereof by means of a spring, as illustrated in FIGS. 19 to 22.
- the protection means 30 has a lateral groove 32, which is provided on the opposite side of the enlarged zone 33 in a substantially transverse orientation relative to the longitudinal axis of said protection means 30 so as to be able to receive the retaining element 20 .
- the aforementioned groove 32 is arranged slightly offset from the receiving orifice 31.
- the enlarged zones 33 may advantageously have a width slightly greater than that of the saddle to be protected, more particularly at the level of the orifice 31, so as to allow the free passage of the free end of the anti-theft rod. 23 in the orifice 31. This is how the seat cover 30 illustrated in FIGS. 19 to 22 shows a slightly asymmetrical structure.
- the seat cover 30 is rigid so as to prevent any unwanted removal thereof.
- a locking means a not shown padlock whose shape can be very varied and which allows to lock the assembly.
- the user-cyclist can advantageously use his usual padlock which can consist, for example, of a U-shaped padlock provided with a closure rod, by passing in this example the closure rod through a pair of orifices. passage 24 at the desired height according to the position in which the anti-theft rod is when it has been folded down on the saddle protector.
- the device according to the invention is arranged in an arrangement of several modular devices attached to one another.
- the devices can be arranged upside down in the above arrangement.
- the devices can also be arranged in mutual offset in height, for example two by two, one device being arranged in the illustrated manner and each adjacent device being offset in height.
- This particular arrangement makes it possible to provide more compact bicycle parking areas, that is to say more anti-theft parking devices on a smaller surface. This effect can be obtained by the offset allowing a certain overlapping of the cycles when they are introduced into the devices without the latter intermingling.
- the cycling user introduces the front wheel of his bicycle into the clamp 28 and the saddle under the cane 20. Then he puts his locking padlock around the base below the level of the clamp, making sure although a include the rear wheel and the bicycle frame. He closes his padlock and thus locks the device.
- the cycling user begins by introducing the front wheel of his bicycle into the aforementioned clamp. Then he lowers the anti-theft rod to the maximum on the saddle 5 of his bicycle by sliding the rod 20 into the base 11. Then, he puts his lock padlock in the appropriate holes, making sure to include the rear wheel and the frame of the bike when placing its padlock. He closes his padlock and thus locks the entire anti-theft device 10.
- all of the retaining elements 28, 20, 12 are made up of profiled tubes thus allowing a minimum visual impact in the urban environment.
- the tubes will have no edges and will have a rounded appearance. Users or passers-by will thus avoid injury when they collide with the device. In addition, thanks to this, the possible impact of the parts of the device will remain without consequence on the bicycle to be introduced.
