Le procédé de publication, de recherche, de collecte et d'échange d'informations dans des réseaux mondiaux ou locaux consiste à former un fichier spécifique, à le faire remplir par la personne publiant les informations et à placer ce fichier sur un site. Les données dans le fichier sont modifiées en fonction des modifications réelles. L'utilisateur demandant les informations à l'agent de recherche reçoit des données provenant du fichier et non pas un lien pointant sur la source. Le procédé permet d'accélérer la recherche et d'éviter les liens 'morts'.
