Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft Verfahren zur Herstellung einer reinen Boswelliasäure aus einem Boswelliasäuregemisch, beinhaltend die Schritte (a) Acetylierung mit einem geeigneten Acetylierungsreagens, oder Deacetylierung mit einem geeigneten Deacetylierungsreagens, (b) Oxidation mit einem geeigneten Oxidationsreagens oder Reduktion mit einem geeigneten Reduktionsreagens. Weiterhin werden Boswelliasäuren bereitgestellt, die, i.a. mit dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren herzustellen sind. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin pharmazeutische Formulierungen.
