Description

PARKING BRAKE ELECTRON VALVE
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an apparatus for actuating a parking brake of a vehicle.
Background Art In general, vehicles in the world are parked by using a parking brake lever disposed at the side of a driver's seat when being parked in any places.
However, existing parking brakes are configured in such a manner that a cable is connected to a lever, which is upwardly and downwardly moved in an artificial way. Accordingly, plenty of energy is required when the lever is upwardly and downwardly operated and, particularly, more plenty of energy is required when the pulled lever is lowered since a release button should be pressed while the lever is pulled. As a result, the operation of the lever is said to be burdensome to women of little strength.
When st-ιrting on an uphill, a driver operates a gear lever, a clutch pedal and an accelerator pedal and at the same time releases a lever of a parking brake. At this time, if a strong power is applied to the parking brake lever, the driver's car is moved backward due to immature operation when starting, resulting in collision with another car behind the driver's car. Therefore, a skilled driver, not the mention a novice driver, often suffers that kind of collision. Further, when the parking brake lever is in a loosely pulled state for a long time on a downhill, the lever is automatically released, causing a lot of accidents, whether grave or trifle.
Furthermore, the parking brake lever is installed between two front seats, taking up much space that might be used for another purpose.
Disclosure of Invention
Accordingly, the present invention is directed to a parking brake electron valve that substantially obviates one or more problems due to limitations and disadvantages of the related art.
An object of the present invention is to provide a parking brake electron valve, which can convert an existing foot brake into a parking brake during parking through an open-and-shut operation of the flow of a brake oil by using an electromagnetic force of an electronic coil having a simple structure.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a parking brake electron valve, which can achieve an easy operation by conveniently operating and releasing a brake through a switch touching. Further another object of the present invention is to provide a parking brake electron valve, which can ensure an easy operation when starting on an uphill.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a parking brake electron valve, which can use a space within a vehicle to the maximum. Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a parking brake electron valve, which can prevent a car accident, whether grave or trifle, caused due to automatic release of the brake.
Additional advantages, objects, and features of the invention will be set forth in part in the description which follows and in part will become apparent to those having ordinary skill in the art upon examination of the following or may be learned from practice of the invention. The objectives and other advantages of the invention may be realized and attained by the structure particularly pointed out in the written description and claims hereof as well as the appended drawings.
It is to be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description of the present invention are exemplary and explanatory and are intended to provide further explanation of the invention as claimed.
Brief Description of the Drawings
Further objects and advantages of the invention can be more fully understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawing in which:
FIG. 1 is a view illustrating a conventional hand brake lever; FIG. 2 is a sectional view illustrating a parking brake electron valve according to the present invention; and FIG. 3 is a sectional view illustrating oil exits of a cylinder according to the present invention.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
The present invention will now be described in detail in connection with preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. For reference, like reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout several views.
A parking brake electron valve comprises a cylinder 1 acting as a body and having one surface completely closed, an electronic coil 4 being installed on the opposite surface to the closed surface of the cylinder 1, oil exits 3 and 3b for allowing a brake oil to flow into the inside of the cylinder 1, a connector 7 being installed between a valve 6 and valves 6a and 6b which can open and close the oil exits 3 and 3b within the cylinder 1, a push rod being installed between the valve 6 and the electronic coil 4, a coil spring 5 being installed on an outside of the push rod 2, and a power switch 8 being installed on the electronic coil 4.
In the parking brake electron valve constructed as above, the valve 6 is operated using a power of a battery utilized in a vehicle. Once the power switch 8 is turned on, an electric current flows in the electronic coil 4, whereby an electromagnetic force is generated and the push rod 2 is pulled. Therefore, the oil exits 3 a installed in the valves 6, 6a, and 6b within the cylinder 1 are conformed with the oil exits 3 and 3b installed in the cylinder 1. A hydraulic pressure transferred from a master cylinder passes through the oil exits 3, the oil exits 3a, and the oil exits 3 in due order. After passing the two oil exits 3b installed on a lower end part of the cylinder 1, the hydraulic pressure is transferred to a hole cylinder installed on each wheel. Accordingly, in a state that a general foot brake is used as usual or a vehicle is stopped by using a brake pedal during parking, if the power switch 8 is turned off, a power supply to the electronic coil 3 is cut off and the electromagnetic force of the electronic coil 3 disappears. In consequence, the push rod 2 is pushed by an expansion force of the coil spring, and the oil exits 3 a installed between the valves 6, 6a, 6b connected to the push rod 2 get to have a disagreement with the oil exits 3 and 3b installed within the cylinder 1 and be blocked. Thus, the hydraulic pressure in each hole cylinder is prevented from being restored to the master cylinder. As a result, the two front wheels and the two rear wheels of the vehicle are simultaneously braked such that the vehicle doesn't move on a flat land and even on a sloping ground, thereby ensuring a safe parking. The structure is so simple that a breakdown is accordingly reduced. Industrial Applicability
As described above, the present invention has an advantage of preventing an accident caused due to an automatic release occurring in a conventional vehicle of mechanical type since the parking brake electron valve is installed and the hydraulic pressure applied to each wheel passes through the cylinder.
The present invention has another advantage of operating and releasing the brake in a simple manner when operating and parking a vehicle.
The present invention has further another advantage of utilizing a space inside the vehicle to the maximum.
The present invention has yet anther advantage of achieving a safe p-irking since even though a brake of one wheel is burst due to whatever during parking, the brakes of the rest three wheels are not released.
While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments, it is not to be restricted by the embodiments but only by the appended claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiments without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
