Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for fabricating a character-printed steel tab for a can container, and in particular to a method for fabricating a character- printed steel tab for a can container which can improve efficiency and cut down production costs, by selectively performing on an identical line a paint coating for preventing corrosion of a cutting surface generated in a tab formation process and a tab separation process from a base material, when fabricating the character-printed steel tab by using a steel plate as the base material.
- 'can container' glass bottles or cylindrical metal containers(hereinafter, referred to as 'can container') have been used to store beverages and liquors.
- the glass bottle is little influenced by external environments, and thus has a superior conservation force.
- the glass bottle is transparent to stimulate a purchasing mind of consumers.
- the glass bottle is not resistant to an external impact, and thus is difficult to handle. A weight of the glass bottle is increased in proportional to the contents thereof. Therefore, the glass bottle is difficult to carry. Moreover, when a tab hole of the glass bottle is sealed up by a crown cap, an additional device is required to open the cap. Recently, the can container has been widely employed to obtain the advantages of the glass bottle and overcome the disadvantages thereof.
- a body In a general structure of the can container, a body has a cylindrical shape, and ends are sealed up to the upper and lower portions of the body. A tab for opening a hole is adhered to one of the ends. Accordingly, the consumer efficiently drinks the contents in the can container by opening the hole with the tab.
- the can container comprises aluminum which does not generate rust and which is light weighted.
- the tab is used merely to open the hole, and thus has a very simple shape. As a result, there is a limit in fabricating various products.
- Figure 1 is a process view illustrating sequential steps of the method for fabricating the character-printed steel tab for the can container in accordance with the present invention
- Figure 2 is a flowchart illustrating the sequential steps of the method for fabricating the character-printed steel tab for the can container in accordance with the present invention.
- the method for fabricating the character-printed steel tab for the can container includes: a coating coil supplying step for supplying a coating steel coil 102 having a predetermined character printing unit according to a printing process step by step under the control of an automatic supplying device 104; a tab formation press step for respectively fabricating a plurality of tabs, by pressing predetermined tab shapes on the coating steel coil 102 supplied to a formation press unit 122 of a press device 120 in the coating steel supplying step; a first coating step for re- coating the front section and surface of the tab from the tab formation press step; a first drying step for drying the re-coated tab in the first coating step; a tap adhering step for adhering the tab dried in the first drying step to a steel or aluminum end which has been previously aligned in a tab adhering unit 130 of the press device 120; a second coating step for re-coating the front section of the tab separated from the base material in the tab adhering step and the front section of a score line which
- the first coating unit 126 includes multi-step rollers 127.
- a coating agent consisting of cotton resin is coated on the surface of the rollers 127. Therefore, the front section and surface of the individual tab formed in the formation press unit 122 are re-coated through the rollers 127.
- the tab re-coated in the first coating unit 126 passes through a first drying unit 128 having a hot blast unit(not shown), the tab is dried at about 200°C in an auto hot blast method. Thereafter, the tab is re-supplied to the tab adhering unit 130 of the press device 120.
- the tab 124 contacts the steel or aluminum end which has been previously supplied to the tab adhering unit 130, and the cocking process is performed thereon. At this time, the tab 124 is separated from the base material, and thus its front section is exposed.
- the tab adhered to the upper surface of the end by the tab adhering unit 130 passes through a second coating unit 132 in an injection type through a spray gun 134 disposed at the outer portion of the press device 120. Accordingly, the tab is re-coated for rust proofing.
- the tab is instantaneously dried.
- the character-printed tab is adhered to the end of the can container.
- the character- printed tab is fabricated by using various materials such as the low-priced steel, and disposed at the end of the can container.
- various materials such as the low-priced steel
- the production costs can be cut down by employing various materials, and a design of the tab can be varied by forming various characters at a predetermined portion of the tab.
- the method for fabricating the character-printed steel tab for the can container improves efficiency and cuts down production costs, by selectively performing on an identical line the paint coating for preventing corrosion of the cutting surface generated in the tab formation process and the tab separation process from the base material, when fabricating the character-printed steel tab by using the steel plate as the base material.

- a primary object of the present invention is to provide a method for fabricating a character-printed steel tab for a can container which can improve efficiency and cut down production costs, by selectively performing on an identical line a paint coating for preventing corrosion of a cutting surface generated in a tab formation process and a tab separation process from a base material, when fabricating the character-printed steel tab by using a steel plate as the base material.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for fabricating a character-printed steel tab for a can container which can vary a design of the tab and improve distinctiveness and value of a product having the tab.
