Abstract
An image display comprising a conventional composite mirror and having a wide viewing angle in the horizontal direction. A directive reflecting screen has a composite mirror and an anisotropic diffuser which are so arranged that the input light beam is transmitted through the anisotropic diffuser, reflected from the composite mirror, transmitted through the anisotropic diffuser, and emerges from the anisotropic diffuser. The anisotropic diffuser is composed of microlenses having a width parallel to the ridges of the composite mirror and different from the width perpendicular to the ridges.
