- the lubricating oil composition of the present invention can keep the friction coefficient between metals related to the torque transmission capacity of the metal belt CVT high in a wide range of temperature conditions from a low temperature to a high temperature. Since the belt CVT has a mechanism to transmit power by the frictional force between the belt and the pulley, the friction coefficient between the belt and the pulley, that is, the friction coefficient between metals, must be increased. This makes it possible to lower the control oil pressure that applies the pressing force during this time, thereby greatly improving fuel efficiency and making it highly useful as a lubricant for belt CVTs.
