Definitions

  • ACCIDENT RELIEF MEMBRANE It is known in the world of sound reproduction the use of electro-acoustic transducers. Their shapes are generally conical and possibly provided with a dome in the center of the cone. These electro-acoustic transducers are membranes emitting waves of sounds in a homogeneous shape over the entire surface of the cone. There is a decade, the membranes were provided with small cones inside the membrane itself, these cones being distributed in a regular and symmetrical manner. The anatomy of the human acoustic study shows us that the pavilion of the ear has shapes representing a certain rugged relief. This rugged relief rests on bumps and bumps distributed in an irregular manner. It should be noted that these reliefs create cavities, interdependent volumes, distinct from each other.
  • the shapes are often elongated or cylindrical.
  • the principle of hearing acuity consists of a pre-selection of sound waves created by the anatomy of the relief of the pinna. This analysis of the external anatomy of the ear invites us to pose the present process and its devices in accordance with biophysics.
  • the present method is to determine segmented, non-homogeneous, non-symmetrical cavities on the surface of an electro-acoustic transducer membrane. These open cavities in front of the membrane can be in communication with one another. The cavities of different size and shape are distributed in a non-symmetrical manner on the membrane. The principle of these differentiated open cavities is to have sensitive presets of the frequencies of different resonances between them.
  • a fully molded membrane can be considered, the front face and the rear face of which represent differentiated and complementary volumes, for example a bump on the front face corresponding to a hollow on the rear face.
  • These membranes with differentiated relief are useful for sound emission or sound reception, such as the preselection of frequencies for a microphone for recording sound waves. It is the presence of standing waves characterized by the presence of volumes that makes the natural selection of sound frequencies.
  • An apparatus according to the present process (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 section AA) is an electro-acoustic transducer provided with a conical membrane (1) and its coil (2), all mounted on a bowl (3 ) in die-cast aluminum with its magnet (4).
  • the membrane on its front face receives partitions (5) which determine open cavities (6) of different shapes. These cavities of different volumes and shapes preselect different sound frequencies by natural resonance, which allows natural listening quality.
  • the device (Fig. 3) represents a shape of a membrane (1) of a millimeter thick in plastic molded according to the shape of the pavilion of an ear. This membrane receives on its rear face its integral winding (2), the mobile assembly is fixed on a bowl (3) with its magnet (4). This same membrane is also used to receive a microphone instead of its winding, which becomes an acoustic receiver, microphone for sound recording. The magnet being removed from the bowl.
  • the membranes can be made of moldable material, such as, for example, polymers, or fabric. Method and apparatus are useful for everyone in audio and audio-visual, from recording to sound reproduction.
