Abstract

L'invention concerne des polynucléotides isolés codant des polypeptides endrogéno-régulés spécifiques à la prostate. L'invention concerne également des polynucléotides sensiblement purs, correspondant aux régions régulatrices génomiques de polynucléotides endrogéno-régulés, spécifiques à la prostate. Sont également décrits des fragments et des sondes de polynucléotides. De plus, l'invention concerne un procédé permettant de diagnostiquer ou de prévoir un état néoplasique de la prostate chez une personne présentant un risque de souffrir d'un tel état pathologique. Le procédé comprend les étapes suivantes: (a) obtention d'un échantillon de fluide ou de la prostate de la personne; (b) détermination du niveau d'expression du polynucléotide ou du polypeptide spécifique à la prostate, endrogéno-régulé; et (c) comparaison des niveaux d'expression du polynucléotide ou du polypeptide spécifique à la prostate endrogéno-régulé avec des niveaux d'expression présentés par un échantillon de fluide normal, par des cellules de prostate normales ou par des lignées cellulaires endrogéno-dépendantes, un doublement du niveau d'expression du polynucléotide ou polypeptide spécifique à la prostate, endrogéno-régulé dans l'échantillon de fluide ou de prostate de la personne, comparé au niveau d'expression du fluide normal ou des cellules de prostate normales ou d'une lignée cellulaire endrogéno-dépendante, indiquant la présence d'un état néoplasique de la prostate. Sont également décrits des procédés d'identification de composés inhibant ou augmentant de façon sélective le niveau d'expression des polypeptides spécifiques à la prostate selon l'invention, ainsi qu'un procédé permettant de traiter ou de réduire la progression d'un état néoplasique de la prostate.
