Definitions
- the present invention relates to a closure device for thermoplastic containers earned out by means of blowing, filling and sealing operations.
- Such known type containers are used for containing liquid drugs or however prompt liquid fruition after the first opening of the container.
- thermoplastic for instance polyethylene
- a further typical problem of such containers is that the liquids can be contaminated because, after opening the container, the liquid can contact contaminated matenal, such as for example the operator's hand. Such kind of circumstance happens mostly m the situation when the coverage element is replaced onto the container, after fruition of the liquid and then the container must be closed again.
- a further problem is that the containers and the closure devices are made with diffeient and sepaiated material
- a first disadvantage is that sometimes it is difficult to get immediately available the closure devices.
- a second disadvantage is that it is difficult to recycle the used matenal since usually the closure devices are not recyclable or reusable: in particular for their small sizes not allowing a quick finding and for the used material that is different from that of the container.
- the mam object of the present invention is to provide a closure device for thermoplastic container which is fit to be closed again after the first fruition of the liquid packaged in said container
- a further object is to provide a closure device always connected to the related container whenever is open or closed.
- FIG. 1A and IB show perspective views of the closure device according to the present invention
- FIG. 2A shows a sectional view of the closure device of figure 1 before the first fruition of the liquid in the container
- figure 2B shows a sectional view of the closure device after the container is opened.
- figure 2C shows a sectional view of the closure device after it is put back onto the container neck;
- - figure 3 shows a perspective view of a container provided with such closure device
- the closure device according to the present invention is internally hollow and compnses substantially a cyl dncal body 2 having an upper dome-shaped surface 3.
- the closure device 1 is connected to the upper part of the body of a container 4, near to its neck 9, by means of a connecting element 5.
- the shape of the connecting element 5 is substantially rectangular, so that it has a trapezoidal shaped portion near to the contacting part of the closure device 1. This trapezoidal shape is designed for allowing a bigger structural stiffness than the connecting element 5, so allowing also a bigger resistance against the detachment
- the closure device 1 further comprises a handgnp and tear-off fm 6 with trapezoidal shape, including a pnsmatic end element 7 with an enlarged base 8, so that a user can easily push by thumb for lifting the closure device 1 and so opening the container 4
- Figures 1A and IB further show annular protrusions 10 on the external lateral surface of the circular edge of the neck 9 of the container 4 These protrusions 10 allow the closure device 1 to be fixed by pressure onto the container 1. Particularly the fixed joint is earned out by means of a vertical movement of the closure device 1 from up to down
- gures 2A, 2B and 2C are now described with particular reference to gures 2A, 2B and 2C
- the closure device 1 before its first use, has fm 6 with a base 11 which compnses the enlarged base 8 (not visible in this sectional view), the connecting element 5, the protrusion 10 and the external walls 12 of the container 4.
- the closure device 1 has a very thin tear-off welding 13 between the protrusions 10 and the base 11.
- This welding 13 is shown as a dot in the sectional view of figure 2A, and is a nng around the lateral surface of the cylmdncal body 2 (figure 1A) of the closure device 1.
- tear-off welding 13 is a very thin film m order to keep the container hermetically sealed but at the same time to be the breakable point during the first fruition of the liquid packaged in the container 4.
- the anow F3 m figure 2C shows the direction followed by the closure device 1 when put back again onto the neck 9 of the container 4.
- the usage of the protrusions 10 since they allow to fix the closure device 1 onto the neck 9 along its whole vertical extension.
- the seal is no more hermetic as before the first use of the container, but anyway allows to have a preserve-aroma function, in such a way that it cantne the taste and the smell of the food liquid of the container.
- Figure 3 shows the closure device 1 upon a container 4 in a similar condition to that shown in figure 2A before its user's first fruition.
- the protrusions 10 are visible, so advantageously they allow the control, the substitution or the disposal of the containers, both before and after use. In other words the visibility or not of the protrusions 10 is the "index" of guarantee or integrity, or not, of the container 4.
- the container 4 is provided with hollows 14 around its lateral walls for easy handling.
- the main advantage of the present invention is therefore to provide a closure device having a connecting element with the container which can assure an easy availability of the same element as well as can avoid contamination of the liquid in the container after its first fruition.
- a further advantage is that the container and the closure device cany out a "mono-component" set allowing an easy and optimal recycling of the container- closure assembly.
